Yes I know it's Thursday, but this gives you time to plan and prepare for all of your projects.
So get ready to get crafty and try out some of these projects to spice up your everyday life.
Michael's, hobby lobby, walmart, target, Dollar tree, and any local craft/fabric store will be you best friends.
First hit up Wal-Mart, Target, and Dollar Tree looking for simple household objects that you can spruce up and repurpose. Look for cheaper things that you won't get upset over possibly ruining.
Some simple items to give a new life:
-plain baskets/bins/cubby things
-simple small trash bin
After that decide what colors and themes go with your room or if it's clothing what goes with your style. Go to your craft stores and find fabric, scrapbook paper, paint.
Other things to consider getting:
-rhinestones and beads
-small wooden letters
-iron ons [try to find the less tacking ones]
-mod podge glue stuff
-vase filler beads, the small ones not the marbles
-rotary knife [for cutting fabric]
-sewing stuff [needle, thread to match fabric]
-whatever you want to add to your piece
You may be like "what the crap? you just listed a ton of random stuff." So now I'm going to tell you some projects you can do.
Personalized pillow: This is great because youcan do what ever you want to match your room.
-pillow form of the size you want [16x16 is always a good size]
-Fabric of your choice
-iron on [optional]
-fabric glue and other accessories for further customization [optional]
-sewing machine [it'll be way easier than doing it by hand
-scissors or rotary knife
-thread to match fabric
This is an awesome video on how to sew up you pillow case. She is using a 20x20 and tougher fabric [sunbrella fabric]: http://youtu.be/JMio9wFePc8
Artsy shoes: Whether you want space shoes like kneesocks created or just simple splatter paint there are just some basics you'll want to have:
-plain canvas shoes
-paint in a ton of you favorite colors or space-y colors or whatever you want
-painter's tape if you want to leave the rubber part plain
-brushes in different sizes, maybe try a sponge brush aswell, a tooth brush if you want to splatter them that way
-newspaper to cover your workspace
-if it's a darker colored canvas you could ever try bleaching them, just do some research on how to bleach stuff
-waterproofing finishing coat, whether it's a spray or a paint doesn't matter it could be hard to find though
then paint away!
Makeup storage: office supplies are great for storing your makeup. To make it a little cuter and less office-y try painting it a bright color [use the right paint for the material]
Something cute for those sterilite drawers that I've seen some people do is add bright patterned scrapbook paper to inside of the clear drawer, not matter how you cut it, though, it will buckle on the curve
if you have a cup or a short vase you can tie a ribbon around it, fill it with the small vase beads, and stick your brushes in the beads. It's a cute way to store you brushes like Sephora and countless youtubers do with a personal touch of ribbon.
For random things: If you have some plain plastic storage item you could use scrapbook paper, magazine cut-outs, and mod podge [or something similar] to decoupage it.
Hope you got some ideas and inspiration for you diy weekends. Request what you'd like to see next!
