SUNNY SIDE UP
Kitty Hawk, North Carolina is known, basically, for being "first in flight." Orville and Wilbur sure did get this tiny beach town some fame, but it's certainly no Miami or Malibu. It's a tight-knit community where no secrets can be kept. Everybody knows everybody. There are three divisions of the city: Duck, despite the name, it's got the biggest, most expensive beach houses, five-star restaurants, and Lincoln Town Cars filling all the parking lots. Then there is Nagshead, a tiny, sand grain of a place. This is the bad end of town, with the druggies, homeless shelters and call girls on the corners of every street. Finally, you've got Kitty Hawk, the real Kitty Hawk, where you have no tourists on the beach, delicious seafood footsteps away and grungy Mom and Pop motels just feet from the shore. In this small town, everyone knows everyone as well as knowing everyone's business. Wild parties, dirty fights and the drama of the Upper East Side, doesn't it sound intriguing? Well, welcome to Kitty Hawk, where things aren't always so Sunny Side Up.
