  • Marilyn Monoprint Wallpaper By Flavor Paper
    2modern.com
“Kiss me with your eyes” — Andy Warhol. Andy Warhol created a series of Marilyn Monroe silkscreen paintings shortly after her suicide in August 1962. Each piece in the photo-silkscreened paintings and screen prints derive from a publicity photo of Monroe from the 1953 film Niagra, which Warhol helped make into the most widespread, recognizable image of the actress. Towards the end of his career, Warhol revisited his most popular works from the 1960s and printed them as negatives, known as the Reversal series. Flavor Paper emulates the Marilyn Monroe Reversal paintings through a unique printing technique called monoprinting in which paint is applied directly to the screen prior to printing Marilyn Reversal overtop. This monoprint technique creates one-of-a-kind print impressions; modern wallpaper composed of these large-scale prints would be extremely varied, yet consistent with a unified Marilyn foreground. Features Warhol collection. Designed by Flavor Paper/Andy Warhol. Modern Wallpaper by hand screened and digital printing. Maintain exacting perfectionist standards. Water based or eco-solvent inks to be as green as possible and only print on the finest materials. Screens: 1 - 2. Colors achieved: 2 - thousands. Match: half (1/2) drop.
  • Crowd (Where's Warhol) Wallpaper By Flavor Paper
    2modern.com
Black is my favorite color and white is my favorite color. This 1963 silkscreen print was based off a 1955 newswire photograph taken of St. Peter’s Square in Rome on Easter Sunday. Flavor Paper felt the ebb and flow of the crowd was similar in effect to a tree canopy, thus allowing it to create an interesting natural feel from afar, yet a personal connection from close up. Several of the people in the image reminded Flavor Paper creative director Jon Sherman of Warhol himself and, in similar style to Andy’s plays on pop culture, he decided to add an image of Andy shot on set of Chelsea Girls where he was wearing a striped shirt similar to Waldo of Where’s Waldo fame. Now you can play the new fun game Where’s Warhol? on your walls. Features. Crowd Collection. Designed by Flavor Paper/Andy Warhol. Aurora Pink on Ivory Clay Coated Paper: Creamy white matte clay-coated face with traditional paper backing. Graphite on Silver Mylar: Smooth matte metallic polyester face with a non-woven backing, light reflective and will subtly pick up some colors from the surrounding room. • Small Flowers Wallpaper By Flavor Paper
    2modern.com
I like painting on a square because you don’t have to decide whether is should be longer-longer or shorter-shorter or longer-shorter: its just a square. Warhol’s Flowers, initially created in 1964, was based off a photograph of Hibiscus flowers taken by the then executive editor of Modern Photography magazine, Patricia Caulfield. The image was used in repeat in various sized canvases to cover full walls and resembled wallpaper. Ronnie Cutrone, Warhol’s main assistant, described the aesthetics of the print, “as decorative art, it’s pretty dense. There is a lot of depth in there… You have this shadowy dark grass, which is not pretty, and then you have these big, wonderful, brightly colored flowers. It was always that juxtaposition that appears in his art again and again that I particularly love.” Often referred to as Warhol’s foray into psychedelic interiors, it is appropriate that Flavor Paper offers the cheery, dark, psychedelic and poppy sides of Flowers. This digitally version is a smaller scale than the hand screened, and is sold on a pre pasted eco-friendly ground that is already trimmed for ease of installation at 24” wide and 21’ long. Features.
