Silk dress with an all-over digital print. Round neckline, cap sleeves. Fitted waistline and straight skirt. Concealed zipper at back. Acetate and elastane lining. Mary Katrantzou, a Central Saint Martins graduate and winner of the Emerging Talent Awards at last year’s British Fashion Awards certainly deserves her reputation as the queen of digital prints. Every season she manages to add a new chapter to her story, never repeating herself but rather developing in a surprising direction. For this collection, which celebrates "the beauty of the everyday" and aimed at "elevating the mundane to the sublime", she presented a series of inventive prints inspired by daily items such as spoons, gardens, phone dials, typewriter keys, luggage tassels and hangers, for an overall spectacular effect. On top of her signature corolla-shaped skirts, she introduced tailored jackets and trousers, maxi flowing volumes, Victorian bustled dresses. The collection also gained from the prestigious collaboration with the Maison Lesage for sublime embroidery for an additional magic and charming touch. Fall-Winter collection 2012-2013.
