  • CB2 1938 Tobacco Leather Butterfly Chair
    cb2.com
Year of the butterfly. Inspired by the original "198 Hardoy Chair" (aka "Butterfly") designed in 1938. Who knew? It had a natural leather hide sling and not the ubiquitous fabrics on collapsible hairpin frames. Our butterfly is the monarch, ruling again in iconic style. Top-grain, full-aniline, vegetable-tanned leather hides hand-stitched in quadrants and hand-laced at the edges read pure vintage with a warm, natural saddle glow. Rich grain and inherent markings enhance the natural beauty and character of the hide, left un-dyed and protected with a water-based lacquer. Displayed in all its glory on a substantial tubular iron frame antiqued light zinc (it doesn't fold…it's here to stay). Super easy assembly, no hardware required. We like four in a conversation circle. Details and Dimensions: 1938 Tobacco leather butterfly chair. 30"Wx30"Dx34.5"H. Iconic "Butterfly" design. Tubular iron frame with a light antiqued zinc finish; water-based clear matte powdercoat. Seat is top-grain, full-aniline leather protected with water-based lacquer. Each leather panel will have natural variations in color and markings; each chair is unique. Hand-stitched hides; hand-laced leather edging. Supports up to 325 lbs. Minimal assembly; no hardware required. Made in India of domestic and imported materials. Overall Dimensions: Width: 30" Depth: 30" Height: 34.5" Seat Height: Height: 14"
  • Niels Bendtsen U-Turn Swivel Chair in Kalahari Leather
    dwr.com
Niels Bendtsen was in his 30s when he became a designer, a move driven by his dissatisfaction with the quality and functionality of products on the market. Decades later, that drive still fuels his obsession for smart, thoughtful design. One 360-degree spin in his U-Turn Swivel Chair (2013), and you’ll see what we mean. In addition to its smooth swiveling mechanism, this chair features a discreet base that tapers as it nears the floor, providing ample legroom and making it easy for you to get up. Choose from natural-looking Aquario leather, which will develop a patina over time, and pigmented Panama leather, which is more resistant to stains. Made in Italy.
  • Mater Shell Chair - Saddle Leather, Black Frame
    shophorne.com
The Shell Chair developed out of Michael Dreeben’s ongoing interest in traditional craft practices in north India - in this case saddle making. Exquisitely made saddles have been produced in India for centuries, and although some horse culture persists, it’s waning as India becomes more technologically developed. The Shell Chairs incentivize these skilled tradesmen and women by providing the artisans with a new market for their craft, and hopefully encouraging them to pass it on to younger generations. The shape of the chair is indebted to Scandinavian design of the mid-twentieth century and embraces some of its core values: it’s clean of line and emphasizes the leather forming and stitching, it’s deeply comfortable, and it’s durable like the saddles it’s derived from. Crafted from thick top-grain leather, with reasonable care, these chairs will last for decades. Frames: Black stained hardwood. Leathers: Premium brown saddle leather

  • Jeffrey Bernett and Nicholas Dodziuk Raleigh Armchair in Leather
    dwr.com
Raleigh (2009) is a comfortable collection that draws from midcentury Danish design. It features an exposed solid wood frame that wraps around the back (be sure to click on additional views above to see it) to support the seating area while lending visual lightness and satisfying tension to the whole. Unlike other exposed-frame collections that force overly upright sitting positions, Raleigh is designed with a carefully canted seatback for a more natural way of situating yourself as you relax and unwind. We chose to work with Jeffrey Bernett and Nicholas Dodziuk on this project because of the importance they place on people – how they move, interact, live and, most of all, sit. The Raleigh Collection received Interior Design magazine’s top honor for 2010 in the residential lounge category. Made in U.S.A.

  • Joe D'Urso D'Urso Lounge Chair in Leather and Fabric
    dwr.com
Whether designing interiors for residential homes, creating retail showrooms for Calvin Klein and Esprit, or developing furniture collections for Knoll, Joe D'Urso delivers elegant, livable solutions. Even the industrial "high tech"loft movement that he pioneered in the 1970s was about functional, comfortable living (albeit a bit stark compared with how D'Urso uses color these days). His D'Urso Collection (2008) for Knoll is an example of the warmer, more colorful Joe. Whether designing a room or an armchair, D'Urso always designs on a human scale. Made in U.S.A. An interesting mix of textures, this Lounge Chair is upholstered in both leather and fabric. The comfortable bouclé-upholstered cushions are nestled in a leather-upholstered frame. Suitable for commercial or residential use.
