Greg Chait, the LA-based designer behind The Elder Statesman and winner of the 2012 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Award, has a free-spirited take on ultra-luxe utilitarian style—and it all begins with the very best, insanely soft Italian cashmere (something we can relate to). For his capsule collection for J.Crew, he took some of his own signature details—think dip-dyes, cool graphics and bold color combinations—and recast them in the trademark J.Crew spirit to create what he calls "wearable, usable, one-of-a-kind collectibles." When it came to designing this sweater, he went with stripes (a motif we both adore) and had them rendered in a just-for-J.Crew color palette. Loose fit. Cashmere in a 14-gauge knit. Hits below hip. Dry clean. Import.
