  • Staub Coq Au Vin
    SOLD OUT: More info
Celebrating the traditional French poultry dish with its sculptured rooster handle, this pot is the ideal size and shape for braising chicken. Staub’s innovative enamel coating takes cooking with cast iron to the next level with improved performance, style and durability. Color selections feature glossy multi-coat enameling that ensures strength and heat resistance and creates a vibrantly colored “majolique” finish similar in appearance to fine ceramic for oven-to-table presentation. Matte Black selection features multi-coat enameling with low-gloss matte finish. Resistant to rust, chipping and cracking, the coating requires no additional seasoning like some other cast-iron pieces. The specially formulated black matte interior enamel of each piece contains traces of quartz, giving it additional heat resistance and a rougher surface resulting in better browning. The smooth enameled base is compatible with all cooktops including induction. Dozens of precisely placed bumps on the lid’s interior funnel evaporated juices directly back down on top of the food for more even basting. Extra-heavy lid seals in moisture for tender, flavorful results. Lid knob on Red, Sapphire Blue, Basil, Graphite and Emerald pieces is made of nickel-plated brass; lid knob on Black Matte is brass. Includes both nickel-plated rooster handle and standard knob. Made in France.

  • Arne Jacobsen Swan Chair in Fabric
    SOLD OUT: More info
Before the Swan Chair (1958), Arne Jacobsen’s architecture and designs were shaped by an assumption of’ natural ways of resisting. In other words, he could make them go only so far in becoming the structures he desired. With new technologies, however, the old rules no longer applied, and he was able to shape fluid curves and single-piece molded shells. The Swan Chair is now made from polyurethane foam, but at the time, Jacobsen used Styropore® to create its continuous shape. Designed for the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen, for which Jacobsen was the architect, the chair permitted guests to spin on its swivel base, thus becoming active participants in the busy hotel atmosphere. A single upholsterer hand-sews the fabric onto the frame of Swan. Original design and licensed manufacture by Republic of Fritz Hansen. Made in Poland.

These feathered designs were made only for a short period of time in the 1930s and 40s.  Also known as "earthenware of water", this burnished ceramic ware is also famous, not only for its decorations and splendid burnish, but also for the flavor, fragrance and freshness of water stored in it. For this reason these pieces were locally known as "barro de olor" (scented clay).
