I waited patiently in the stands scoping the pitch for Cameron, who was currently decked out in Gryffindor's famous red uniform. I smiled as he waved from below. Neville settled beside me, snacking on Bertie Bott's Jelly Beans.
"Could I have one, Neville?" I asked nicely. He nodded and handed me the box. I grabbed a couple and ate one. My face immediately scrunched up in disgust.
"What'd ya get?" He asked, trying to hide a laugh. I shook my head and threw the rest in his hand. I turned my attention back to the Quidditch match that was about to begin. I spotted Cameron speaking with Ginny and Harry.
He wore his usual grin and put on his goggles, looking glumly at the sky. Neville jabbed me in the ribs, fighting another giggle. I narrowed my eyes.
"Can't stop looking at 'em, eh?" I smiled. "Well, I see you eyeing Luna from across the field." I retorted, smirking. Madam Hooch was talking among the players, warning both Gryffindor and Slytherin players that a good clean game was what she was hoping for. I saw Cameron roll his eyes and Draco said replied haughtily.
The players mounted their brooms and took off. I watched Cameron avoid Bludgers and oncoming Slytherins. I screamed along with the crowd as he obtained the quaffle. He flew quickly and almost fell, which gave me a slight heart attack, but regained his balance and scored.
Gryffindor quickly took a huge lead and Slytherin grew tired. Even Malfoy looked worn out. Luckily for Harry, he caught the snitch with ease and ended the game, giving Gryffindor a victory. I ran down to the pitch giving a very sweaty Cameron a huge hug and a kiss on the cheek. He pried his goggles off and lifted me off the ground, spinning me around and hitting Malfoy in the ribs with my feet. He grabbed his wand quickly and muttered a spell, but I was too fast for him.
"Protego!" I said, and the spell rebounded and hit him square in the chest. Cameron chuckled loudly, pointing at a very small Malfoy with blazing red hair. I laughed along with him as Madam Pomfrey yanked Malfoy by the ear and dragged him off to the hospital wing.
"Wait here." He whispered and disappeared into the Boys Locker Room. I stood in the middle of the pitch as the crowd cleared and Neville came up with a wide eyed looking Luna. I opened my mouth to speak, but she held her hand up.
"The Nargles are here. Shh." She said, gazing up at the sky. I smiled and hugged Neville before heading back to the castle. I spotted the Golden Trio up ahead and Harry waved at me. I shyly waved back as Ron gave me a goofy grin, while Hermione paid no attention to me.
I heard huffing behind me and looked up to Cameron, who had replaced his goggles with his glasses. I smiled, but he shook his head.
"I looked everywhere for you, don't scare me like that!" He said in a mock-serious tone. I shrugged and he draped his arm over my shoulder and we returned to the common room.
There was a crowd forming, hoisting Harry up and chanting. I smiled at Cameron, who was now being jostled around the crowd. He looked at me, asking for help. I laughed and scooted Ginny in the crowd. They soon dropped Cameron and hoisted Ginny up.
"Blimey, thank goodness I have such a magnificent
girl as you. Now let's go celebrate with some dinner." He said, dragging me out the portrait hole and into the corridor.
"Awe, can't we stay by the warm fire?" I pleaded, but he ignored my whining and continued on his way.
