"Come on, Vodka! Mommy has a party to go to!" I called to my maltese puppy, patting my thigh. "Let's go, baby!"
Vodka scampered over to me, yapping. I scooped her up, kissed her nose, and tucked her under my arm.
I walked into my room, tossed my Michael Kors clutch and sunglasses onto my queen sized bed, and set Vodka on the plush carpet.
"Let's go pick something out for Mommy to wear to the party tonight!" I said as I walked into my closet, Vodka following faithfully, and surveyed my selection.
"Colorful, short, strapless, alright?" I said, looking down at the puppy.
Vodka yapped and jumped to a purple, mid-thigh length, strapless dress. "That's perfect! Thanks, baby!" I said, pulling the dress off the rack and walking to my bathroom. "Mommy's gonna get ready, ok? Go take a nap." I said. Vodka scampered off and I shut the door behind me.
An hour later and a half later, I stepped out of the backseat of the black town car to the blinding flashes of the paparazzi's cameras. I pushed my way through the pack, lenses following my every move, and stepped into the crowded club.
A pounding beat immediately shook my senses, but I recovered and continued walking to find my party girls. A passing waiter held a tray of cocktails. I grabbed a green-looking one and sipped it.
"Mmm, appley..." I thought to myself. I shrugged and took another swig.
"Good stuff!" I heard over my shoulder. I turned and saw Marcus's face.
"Hey!" I cried, throwing my arms around him and kissing him on the cheek. "How have you been? I haven't seen you since what? Last summer?" I asked.
"I've been. You know." he answered in a thick Grecian accent, shrugging adorably.
"Oh well, whatever happens, a club can always fix!" I said, laughing. I grabbed his hand and led him to my group of friends. They all looked at me questioningly.
"Heyyy guys, this is my friend Marcus. We met last summer in Greece, and I guess he came to visit me!" I explained, turning to smile at him. "So, be nice! I'm getting drinks for everyone!"
Everyone grinned and immediately started talking to Marcus. I smiled, proud of myself for introducing him, and went to find a waiter.
"I wonder what's gonna happen for me and Marcus tonight?" I thought to myself. I smiled, imagining our night ahead. "Lots of fun, that's for sure..." I laughed and leaned towards the bartender to order.
