Fall 2012 Trend: Plaid & Glad

According to GLAMOUR, tartan and plaid--especially in bold red and black hues--are one wearable trend this fall.
 
If, like me, you thought all tartan skirts in these hues were wool--think again! This one is a cotton-poly blend. It's paired with a soft and cozy turtleneck sweater comprised of cotton and a plaid, polyester scarf.
 
As for accessories, all manmade (material) bag and boots would be a ideal with this ensemble. Opt for opaque tights, preferably in black, to create a long leg with the ankle boots.
 
Finally, silver-gray eye shadows will add shimmer and play well with sterling silver jewelry. Celtic-inspired earrings and necklace are fun foils for the kilt-like skirt.
