Necklines on cocktail gowns and evening wear this fall are on their way up.
Rather than dramatic, deeply plunging Vs, necklines are high, flowing and draped. Fabrics, colors and lines appear to be a bit softer as well, as fabrics fall gently along the body skimming it (and thus slimming it) rather than grabbing unforgivingly to every curve and bump.
"In vogue" fabrics include satin and silk--the latter of which can be well imitated in weight and drape with the right blends of polyester, acetate, rayon and/or viscose.
Of course, a dress with a similar cut in a bold, autumn color shouldn't be ruled out.
