It's 11-11-11 everybody!
FRIDAY: In the Ballroom, there will be a gala event after classes. It's for charity, be sure to donate to your favorite cause!
I was standing amongst Lucca, Portia, Zara, Kristin, Victoire and Georgina. It was an unlikely little group, but somehow we managed not pull eachothers' hair out. I wasn't interested in a catfight anyway. Despite the fact Lucca and I'd discussed ways to get back at Kristin, we decided against them all. It was childish.
What I /was/ interested in however was the charity part of the gala! I absolutely loved charities, my parents used to donate extreme amounts of money to the local charities back in New Zealand. Their generosity rubbed off on me. The only trouble was that I wasn't overflowing with cash like they were. Being a student in London and not having an actual job makes it kind of difficult to be rich. Thankfully though, Mum and Dad send me weekly checks of 1,000 pounds so I don't have to worry about that at all.
I dropped a few hundred in one of the contribution boxes. It was to the TWLOHA charity. That one was close to my heart for some reason, even though I didn't know anyone who was suffering with depression or cutting. The second charity I donated to was a local animal shelter. Knowing me, anyone can tell that I am obsessed with nature and animals. I decided not to donate anything else, otherwise I'd be broke for the rest of the week.
"Whoa, that was a lot of moolah." Kristin sneered at me, as always, holding a glass of champagne. "Where'd you get that?"
I looked at her and bit my tongue. I didn't want to start a fight. All I said was, "None of your business, Kristin."
That seemed to get rid of her. I walked back to my little coterie. Portia and Victoire were discussing Portia's latest fling. As much as I cared, I was getting a little tired of hearing her boy problems all day long.
Lucca whispered to me after the gala before we were about to leave. "So, um, are you sure that we're not going to plan a revenge attack against Kristin?
I paused and stared at her. There was mischief in her eyes. "I..I... don't think it's necessary...what good will it do?"
She closed her mouth tight. Then, she spoke. "None, I suppose. You're right, we should forget about it."
I nodded vehemently, even though I thought the topic was settled days ago. "We should." I said with slight confusion in my tone.
Lucca looked as if she was up to something. No, it was more like she had already done something and she felt bad about it. Guilty, almost. Had she done something to Kristin already, without telling me? I ignored the look and tried to focus my attention on other things, but it was extremely hard.
