Here's my perfect Bonnaroo-inspired outfit!

When it comes to summer music festivals, it seems like people treat it like a huge hipster fashion show. People go all out, they wear 'controversial' traditional native American headresses, girls wear maxi dresses, ombre, jean shorts, boots, flowers in their hair, etc. You've probably seen it all.
I wanted to sort of bring that to another level by adding in functionality, but omitting all the cliche trends (let's be honest, ombre's been "in" for far too long to still be "in").
So in short, here's what a I styled for my friend (who is actually going to Bonnaroo):

sleeveless dress - it's breezy and cool so she won't get hot even in the southern heat

neon lace shorts - a cool alternative to DIY studded, dip dyed jean shorts, these shorts will give you security when you are sitting on the lawn or dancing in case if your short dress rides up.

chambray shirt - just to act as a coverup if the sun begins burning your shoulders

print sneakers - it won't break your heart (or your pedicure) if these inexpensive sneakers get accidentally stomped on. The fun color and print shows your artistic side.

hat - a cheap paper straw sunhat can be crunched up into your backpack, then protect your neck and face from the sunshine

necklace - a simple pendant from a fast fashion house does its job to accessorize, but if it accidentally falls off or gets lost, you won't feel any emotional attachment.

embellished backpack - to hold all your goodies for the whole day! Toss in water, sunblock, disposable camera, whatever you may need.
