@primcessproper.....I'm British too and I'm incredibly proud to consider myself British :) But as much as I am British, I'm also Welsh! And Wales is probably the most forgotten country by other nations, and it p*sses me off to no end when people refer to Britain as England! I don't know anyone who has the issue with being called British, but when people assume we're English, that's what gets to me!!

Yeah, we both sort of are, but I live in Britain, and England, Scotland and Wales are all very different countries. trust me, we don't like to be lumped together. Britain is just the name of the island.

@primcessproper, Great Britain is actually the name for the large island made up of just Scotland, Wales and England, all 3 of which are countries, although are not recognised as such by the UN. The official country, as recognised by the UN as a sovereign state, that's made up of Northern Ireland as well as the 3 mentioned, is the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland (or just the United Kingdom) :) So technically, we're both right ;) Great Britain, Wales, Scotland, England and Northern Ireland are called countries, but that's the colloquial definition, not the UN definition :)
