Fare Thee Well (Dink's Song) - Oscar Isaac & Marcus Mumford (Inside Llewyn Davis Soundtrack)
UPDATE: Do not listen to the Oscar nominations. This film is the biggest snub it's a SHAME. It's one of the best movies of the year and trust me I'm a film student.
I saw Inside Llewyn Davis a while ago, and this set has been in my drafts ever since. I loved the movie so I felt I needed to publish it anyway!
On to my review:
Inside Llewyn Davis is a film of the Coen Brothers, whom you might know from The Big Lebowski or Oh Brother Where Art Thou and more. It's about the folk musician Llewyn Davis who tries to give his, now solo, career a new life. Unfortunately, his timing isn't right at times and he finds himself in the most stupid situations.
On to the points I loved about this movie:
- The cat. Protagonist Llewyn Davis carries a cat with him the entire movie. It's cute, weird and causes a lot of hysterical situations.
-The Music. I have a weak spot for movies which feature a great soundtrack and actors with amazing singing voices, so there you go. Also, musicmasterminds Marcus Mumford (yes, he's the one from Mumford and Sons) and Justin Timberlake collaborated for this movie!
- The humor. Inside Llewyn Davis is a comedy, but not in the most traditional sense of the word like you might suspect from a Hollywood movie. It's mostly dark humor and getting a laugh at someone's expense. It's funny like life can be funny at times; ironical for instance.
- Amazing performances by Oscar Isaac, and the rest of the supporting cast. But Oscar is just perfect as the strong headed Llewyn Davis.
Inside Llewyn Davis is a hilarious, beautifully shot movie, full of great performances and more. If you want to see a few movies for the awardseason, I'll recommend this one highly!
