Play it again. Country on the Radio plays to the tune of Americana, remixed. Inspired by his hobby of restoring vintage objects, artist Brett Whitacre purchased this radio from a flea market, refitted it with a modern sound system and added the script "Country" logo salvaged from an American vehicle. In his original artwork, Whitacre reverse spray-painted the image on a found window from the alleys of Chicago, and digitally replicated it on canvas. The authentic texture and color achieve Whitacre's goal to "make it look as real as possible—something I was just beginning to practice as a painter." brett whitacre. Influenced by vintage and modern advertising, and American history, Chicago-based artist Brett Whitacre creates urban pop art from reclaimed objects, such as old window panes, television sets and luggage. Juxtaposing old and new, he applies his vivid imagery to these unconventional surfaces through a variety of techniques, including illustration, reverse glass painting, stencil work and spray paints controlled by tape and other materials. The resulting work is definitively modern with a contrasting rustic warmth. CB2 Edition LMTD: CB2 Edition LMTD original works are offered one time only in a small reserve. This is a picture of a leaf of the common landscape plant the hosta. It was made one afternoon in June, and was lit by the rays of the late afternoon sun shining through an oak tree overhead. The dappled sun, together with the other details in the picture, combine to produce a winning image. This picture was one of a five image series which won First Place in the flora category of the 2008 International Photography Awards, and First Place in the entire Nature division of the 2009 Prix de la Photographie Paris (PX3). The print was produced on mat surface fine art paper using archival pigment inks which will not fade for over 300 years. It is printed on 16.5X23.5 inch paper which produces a border of 1 inch on the top and bottom and about 3 inches on the sides. The print is titled and numbered on the bottom left front, and signed and dated on the bottom right front. It is one of an edition of 50.

  • Ron Reams "Study No. 118" Giclee Print
    artfulhome.com
Giclee print of an original mixed media collage composition. Abstraction, as the base of each painting, accents the inclusion and combination of landscape and figurative image development. Each painting begins with a square thumb-nail mixed media collage that grows into the much larger visual reality of a completed work of art. During the construction of each collage, paint, ink, and various textures are blended to develop the counter balancing elements necessary for the work to grow. Since Reams sees blocks of space with color and images, he starts each painting on a 15 foot panel that is painted in segments that are separated into 60 squares which are treated as individual studies. Each square, in this initial painting stage, is further enhanced by Ron's unique technique of rotating the square while developing the painting's color, space, contrast and balance. Signed and numbered by the artist below each image. On the far left is the artist's embossed stamp that is applied after signing. Dimensions below refer to paper size. image size is 10"H x 10"W. Certificate of Authenticity and limited edition is provided by the artist. Limited edition of 200.
