Britney's free S.F. concert set for March 27
The Bay Area gets Britney first.
It's now been revealed that the 29-year-old Spears' much hyped free concert in San Francisco's Castro neighborhood -- which will be aired on ABC-TV's "Good Morning America" on March 29 -- will actually be taped on March 27. The pop diva will take the stage for a one-hour performance beginning at noon that day, according to Supervisor Scott Wiener, whose district includes the Castro.

She'll perform on a stage erected in front of the historic Castro Theatre, which should make for great TV, and the crowd will assemble right there on the street. The 400 and 500 blocks of Castro, from Market to 19th streets, will be closed to traffic beginning at roughly midnight March 26 to 4 or 5 p.m. March 27.

Admission to the concert will be first-come-first-served and once capacity is reached no more fans will be admitted. Thus far, a capacity limit has not been set.
