  • Jaime Hayon Ro Lounge Chair
Spanish designer Jaime Hayon immersed himself as a teenager in both skateboard culture and graffiti art, which lie at the core of the bold and whimsical forms that he creates today. In 1997, after studying industrial design in Madrid and Paris, he joined Fabrica, a research center in Treviso, Italy, where he soon became the head of design. Hayon struck out on his own in 2003, first devising collections of ceramics and furniture, then delving into interior design. His work is featured in several museums and has received accolades from the likes of Time and Wallpaper magazines. Hayon designed his Ro Lounge Chair (2013) to offer relief from frenetic everyday life. “My goal was to create a slim and elegant chair that encourages reflection and comfort,” he explains. Appropriately named – ro is Danish for “tranquility” – this sculptural chair beckons you to relax, offering chair-and-a-half proportions beautifully suited to changing positions, reading a newspaper or having your dog sitting next to you as you unwind. Upholstered with a tufted back and flared outer shell, it’s marked by subtle textural contrast and flowing organic lines. This is the authentic Ro Lounge Chair produced by Republic of Fritz Hansen. Made in Poland.

  • Oscar Armchair by Matthew Hilton
The Oscar armchair strikes a pleasing balance between modernity and tradition, large in size yet light in appearance. The armchair is made from a European hardwood frame, jute webbing and hessian straps and then covered with a mix of materials that includes natural fibers, animal hair and wool. It features large feather cushions that are notable for their depth, the back has a line of sewn in pulls, lending the armchair the appearance of a buttoned back, without the actual buttons. The feet are made from walnut stained beech, with the front two being turned versions. By contrasting long straight lines with delicate natural curves, Mathew Hilton has created a piece that is both reserved and full of humility. The Oscar armchair is a piece perfect for those who like their modernity laced with a little familiarity. Made in the UK. Shown here in Molly 160 Wool and Range Leather. Additional fabrics available upon request.

  • Ludwig Mies van der Rohe Barcelona® Chair
Ludwig Mies van der Rohe's Barcelona Chair and Stool (1929), originally created to furnish his German Pavilion at the International Exhibition in Barcelona, have come to epitomize modern design. • Arne Jacobsen Swan Chair in Milani Fabric
Before the Swan Chair (1958), Arne Jacobsen’s architecture and designs were shaped by an assumption of’ natural ways of resisting. In other words, he could make them go only so far in becoming the structures he desired. With new technologies, however, the old rules no longer applied, and he was able to shape fluid curves and single-piece molded shells. The Swan Chair is now made from polyurethane foam, but at the time, Jacobsen used Styropore® to create its continuous shape. Designed for the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen, for which Jacobsen was the architect, the chair permitted guests to spin on its swivel base, thus becoming active participants in the busy hotel atmosphere. A single upholsterer hand-sews the fabric onto the frame of Swan. Original design and licensed manufacture by Republic of Fritz Hansen. Made in Poland.

Displaying the quintessential qualities of Scandinavian furniture design - Softline is clean, classic, and minimalistic.

"Based on his famous Series 7 Chair, Arne Jacobsen designed the Fritz Hansen Lily Armchair (originally named the Series 8 Chair) with an even more tapered waist and curved top. Coupled with the curved, wing-like arms, the chair does indeed resemble a lily in bloom. Made out of pressure-molded sliced veneer, the chair's and arms' curves are enhanced by the subtle sheen of the lacquered finish."
  • Mater Shell Lounge Chair - Black Leather, Soaped Oak
The Shell Chair is developed out of Michael Dreebens ongoing interest in traditional craft practices in North India - in this case saddle making. Exquisitely made saddles have been produced in India for centuries, and although some horse culture persists, it's waning as India becomes more technologically developed. The Shell Chairs attempt to incentivize this skilled trade by providing these artisans with a new market for their craft, and hopefully encouraging them to pass it on to younger generations. The shape of the chair is an homage to Scandinavian design of the mid-twentieth century and embraces some of its core values: it's clean of line and is intended to emphasize the leather forming and stitching, it's deeply comfortable, and it's durable – like the saddles it's derived from, it's crafted from thick, top-grain leather, and with reasonable care, will last for decades. Frame: Soaped Oak. Leather: Black leather.
