When the big Danish designer Henning Koppel designed in 1978 his first world-famous watch, he broke an old watch tradition by replacing numbers with dots. Since then, this simple but obvious difference in the design inspired the watch collection of Georg Jensen which embodies the Scandinavian design and simplicity, connected with functionality and quality. Along the 41 mm wide dial, there are elegant black or white dots instead of the usual. These enframe the needles which count hours, minutes and seconds. On the right side of the dial is also shown the day of the month and on the top area is a 24-hour-advert. The colour of the dial, which is covered by a sapphire glass, can be choosen between black and white. The black calf leather band has an exclusive alligator imprinting. The model Koppel 308 is a mechanic watch, whose clockwork winds itself up through body movements of the owner. Without any movement, the watch will stop to work. To avoid this case, the Koppel 308 has an advert in the lower part of the dial which shows how much energy it has left. The watch Koppel 308 is made of stainless steel which is a homage for the in Henning Koppels original design of the year 1978. Today, the automatic watch is a total design classic of Georg Jensen.
