  • By Lassen Line Candle Holder - White
    shophorne.com
With a sharp sense of contemporary Functionalist style, Mogens Lassen designed the iconic Kubus candleholder in 1962, a piece once reserved solely for family and close architect colleagues. In 1983 he reapproached his own geometric candleholders, and the result was Line, whose shape was conceived through a mathematical formula. The two candleholders form a single line, and the architectural look fits perfectly with contemporary minimalism. Kubus and Line is still crafted in Denmark, and among architects and design connoisseurs it has acheived the status of a modern international design icon.

    shophorne.com
Introduced in 1962 by Mogens Lassen, the Kubus collection represents his lifelong devotion to the Bauhaus ideal of functionalism, where rationalism trounces the merely ornamental. The collection is also a fine example of his craftsman's appreciation of materials. Here, he uses the copper plated steel to heighten the simplicity and strength of the Kubus collection. A prolific designer and architect, Mogens was as equally adept at creating pieces to include in the buildings as he was designing them, and has left a rich archive still being discovered by design fans today.
  • Mogens Lassen Kubus 4 Candleholder
    dwr.com
A pioneer of Danish functionalism, architect Mogens Lassen approached his design work with mathematical precision. His Kubus Candleholder (1962) is a reaction against traditional candlesticks, which he saw as overly ornate and convoluted. Consisting of only the outline of a cube, it is a simple and angular design. Made of copper-plated steel, the Kubus is polished by hand, making each one unique. Like all copper, the Kubus will develop a rich green patina over time, or it can be polished to maintain its original luster. This licensed classic has been brought back into production by the designer’s grandson, Søren Lassen. Candles not included. Made in Denmark.
  • Georg Jensen - Candles for Cobra candle holder
    connox.com
„COBRA makes us think it would be upright and floating, fighting gravity,” explained the designer Wortmann. When it is alone, it spreads a snake-like vivacity, while groups with two or more candle holders spread a soft, appealing candelabra. “This is how uncountable transformations emerge when the candle holders get together”. The polished stainless steel is nearly vitalized by the shining candles that stand I the candle holder. A single candle holder transmits a sincere and original statement. With sets of two you will create an arrangement of subtle humour, playing an important role in every furnishing. The ideally suitable candles for the Cobra candle holders are also available in here.

  • Georg Jensen Sterling Silver Candlesticks - Pair
    chairish.com
Georg Jensen Sterling Silver Pair of Candlesticks Style #1139 This candlestick is a good example of how Koppel’s later designs adopt a tauter idiom compared with the early very organic works like his pitchers. The design is still very strong and superior but more simple, symmetric and less curvy. In all its simplicity this candlestick requires great accuracy of the craftsmen. The metal spinner will make the body and the actual candle holder on his spinning machine and after a first grinding the silversmith will then solder on the bottom and the candle holder. Design year: 1965

  • Georg Jensen - Glow Candleholder
    connox.com
Inviting light: The Glow Candleholder by Georg Jensen is wonderfully suitable for pillar candles. These large candles emit particularly warm light that creates a cosy atmosphere – especially during the cold winter months. When the designer Maria Berntsen couldn't find any candleholder that holds large candles and that she also liked, she created the Glow Candleholder for Georg Jensen. Thereby, particular emphasis was placed on the elegance: Glow consists of stainless steel bars that twist and entwine around and with each other, comparable to a nostalgic version of the infinity-sign. The clever design of the candleholder by Georg Jensen gives pillar candles their distinctive character. Georg Jensen manufactures the Glow Candleholder with the accustomed high-quality polished stainless steel.
