@xo-brianna Hey loves ♥
So, I take dance classes and one thing I've mastered is splits! Here's some tips on achieving yours! :)
Step O1. STRETCH
It's important to stretch and warm up your muscles before doing a split to prevent muscle tearing. You don't want to go into a full-out split and shock your legs! Stretch different parts of your legs (especially the hamstrings) and hold for 10 seconds each.
Step O2. RELAX
Doing a split when you're tense won't let you do it to its full extent. Take a breath, let your muscle loosen, and ease into it.
Step O3. POSITION
Depending on the type of split you're doing, (right side, left side, or middle), you're going to place your body and legs a certain way. I'm gonna go through the side, then middle,
- For your left or right side, you will put your right / left leg in the front of your body, so it'll look like an upside down v from the side of your body.
- For your middle, you will stand straight and spread your legs apart with your feet turned out, so it'll look like an upside down v from the front of your body.
Step O4. SLIDE DOWN
Keep your hips and legs in the position that they are in and slide your body down, letting your legs slide out. When you start to feel strain in the inside of your legs and you feel you can't go down any further, that is your full split!!
The goal is to have your butt / crotch area sitting on the ground and your whole legs flat against the ground.
Remember not to force your split further than you're comfortable with to avoid injury.
Stretch and practice everyday to gain your full split!
I hope this tip helped youu! :) ♥
