  • Artifort Oyster Lounge Chair
    hivemodern.com
Design Pierre Paulin, 1960. Foam upholstered shell, chrome or powder coat frame. Made in The Netherlands by Artifort. "A chair should be more than simply functional. It should be friendly, fun and colorful." -Pierre Paulin. True design is timeless. It survives all trends. Without aging. Take Oyster for instance. Modern, exciting, smart, respectable, comfortable. One of the first designs in the Classic Collection and 'the easy' chair of the sixties. The chromed metal base is so minimalist that the seating shell seems to float. All over the world, this chair decorated, and still decorates, the living areas of Artifort fans with a feeling for style. The Oyster was in the Artifort collection until 1979 and by request, it was brought back into the collection in 1999. Pierre Paulin studied stone carving and clay modeling at the Ecole Camondo in Paris in the early fifties where he began designing furniture for Thonet. In 1958, he became the designer for Artifort where he created a series of sculptural chairs with an inner structure of steel tubing, covered in foam and fabric. In 1968, Paulin collaborated with Le Mobilier National and received many important government commissions including furniture and interiors for the Elysee Palace in Paris. He also designed home appliances. 35.8" w | 29.1" d | 33.5" h | seat: 14.2" h. Base is offered in chrome. Matching ottoman also available.

  • Bubble Club Armchair By Kartell
    2modern.com
A veritable icon made by Kartell, the mass-tinted polypropylene Bubble Club Armchair was a pioneer of a new concept in furniture accessories: the industrial chair made entirely of plastic. Technology and research made it possible for Kartell to mass produce what was traditionally handmade. Bubble Club is a roomy armchair, characterized by the soft line of its armrests, in contrast with the more rational lines of the backrest. This is a minimalist silhouette, reminiscent of the lines of "granny's sofa." Along with the couch and the small table, produced with the same finish and colors, Bubble Club Armchair is now a complete family, nothing less than an "industrial living-room." Thanks to their exceptional weather resistance, all three members of the Bubble Club family can survive perfectly outdoors and are ideal for furnishing gardens, pool sides and patios. Features: Made of smooth batch-dyed polyethylene. Can be used indoors or outdoors. Suitable for residential or commercial use. Made in Italy.

  • Trays Side Table By Kartell

This is an articulated system of table surfaces for the home or office. The design's construction concept is based on small tables and shelf systems, with patterns and finishes which resemble lacquered Japanese trays. The table tops are made of solid, refined methacrylate and come in gloss black and white. They are available in three standard sizes and are fixed onto structures of differing heights, either floor-standing or on castors. The collection's overall design hints at the idea of lightness and elegance without compromising stability and durability. The table tops can be white or black and the support is in chromed steel. • Vitra Coconut Chair With Leather
    occa-home.co.uk
The Coconut Chair is a typical 1950s design , it stands out for its humorous touch, formal clarity and minimal use of materials. Nelson himself compared it with a coconut cut into eight parts and inverted the coconut. The plastic seat shell is white, while the single-section upholstery comes in a variety of colours. This return to the natural spatial shape of a shell enabled Nelson to create an inviting, comfortable armchair that offers users the freedom to sit in countless different positions. White shell with leather seat pad available in nero, asphalt, chocolate, marron, red, sand or snow (also available in fabric see related product).
