We love felt! It's just so warm and modern at the same time. These felt coasters by graf & lantz are uber thick to catch any drips that come their way. They come in a set of six. Up until the late 19th century, felt coasters were used in taverns across Bavaria. They not only soaked up moisture but were also used to cover the glass while sitting in a beer garden on a warm summer day to keep out falling leaves and unwanted flying guests. The invention of less expensive paper coasters around 1880 marked the end of felt coasters. Nevertheless, to this day, Bavarians call coasters of all kinds 'Bierfilzl' (beer felt). These felt coasters are made from 100% merino wool felt from Germany. Simply run under the faucet and air dry to remove stains.
