Guest Editor: Eva Chen

Our guest editor Eva Chen (Beauty, Health & Special Projects Director at Teen Vogue) is an expert in all things beauty and style, and she’s passing her know-how on to us! This week, Eva gives us the low down on fall 2012 with excellent advice on the trends everyone will want to try, from the lip color no style seeker should go without to the hair trend she’d take from summer into the new season. So what are you waiting for?

See what Eva has to say now!

• Her top fall makeup hues
“A lot of the great fall trends that I love are perennial. A beautiful strong red lip with clean eye makeup, for example. Or for this season, oxblood and burgundy shades are such a big trend on the runway.

And then nails, of course. We’re still seeing a lot of dirty pastel colors and beautiful mauve polishes are coming in, too. Glitter is still really popular as well, and I’m looking forward to seeing nail art trends continue through the fall.”

• The new season’s prettiest nail trend
“I think for fall, it’s always beautiful to see more opaque shades. Really beautiful saturated gray colors, for instance, or cobalt blue. I think it’s going to be more of a creamy, dense trend, which I prefer. It’s more of a statement.”

• The year’s hottest hair color
“I’m still enjoying pretty dip-dyed hair—I’m not over that trend yet, especially since it played such a strong role in the resort shows. The kind of pastel color they did at the Chanel resort runway show is just so amazing!”
