Her perfect-skin plane regimen
“I have a pretty intense routine before and during travel. Before I fly I always remove my makeup, and then I apply a super-hydrating serum. Lately I’ve been taking Dermalogica Overnight Repair Serum, which has really beautiful oil texture.
“I was once chatting with Cathay Pacific flight attendants, and they told me that midway through flights they take off all their makeup, wash their faces, moisturize and then put everything back on. I don’t do the makeup part, but midway through a long haul flight I’ll usually just re-wipe my skin and then moisturize again. I figure, if you’ve ever seen how great the Cathay Pacific flight attendants look, I’m happy to practice what they preach.”
Making the most of your travel beauty routine
“If it’s an overnight flight or a longer flight, I’ll take an SK-II mask with me and I’ll use that the night I arrive or after all my meetings. Guerlain also has really nice eye patches. And don’t forget Crest Whitestrips! When you’re traveling and you’re stuck in a hotel room with nothing to do, that’s the best time to put them on and watch a bad movie.”
Post-flight makeup secrets
“I tend to fly into town the day I have a meeting, and I rarely have downtime to compose myself. The most important thing I carry is eye drops to brighten up my eyes; I think that makes a really big difference. Boscia also has a really nice BB cream with SPF 25, so I use that to even out my complexion. Then I use a NARS Multiple blush stick on my cheeks just to wake up my face a bit. I always curl my lashes because that makes you look instantly awake. And then I’ll use a Tarte lip stain. If I forget my blush, I can also just pat some on my cheeks!”
