Song of the day: Roll Away Your Stone - Mumford & Sons
Whoa. How is it already June?! #cray
It's been so pretty outside this past weekend! And HOT. But yay summer's coming!
I had some bubble tea on Friday, and now I've been craving it all weekend. It's the most refreshing thing ever. I've only ever had Mango-flavored, but I love it. Who else is with me? Some people hate it, but I don't know, it just makes me all happy and bubbly inside ;)
So for my book group thing, we settled on this book, "The History of Love" by Nicole Krauss. So if anyone here wants to secretly join in on my book group, go pick it up! Haha. I'm like a hundred pages in, and so far, it's good! I mean, it's not like anything I've ever read before, so it's... I don't know. I can see how some teenagers used to fun, easy Sarah Dessen reads or whatever might be like "Eh this is too boring and too heavy" haha. But, it's quite interesting. The way it's told. I can't really explain what I mean by that because I'm only about halfway through it, but I definitely am compelled to uncover the meaning behind it all. It really makes you want to do some soul-searching or something haha. And it's quite tragic. And depressing. But really beautiful. And deep. But yeah. I don't know. I definitely think it's worth trying cause, like I said, it's different from anything I've ever read before. Actually. Maybe it reminds me a little of "The Book Thief." Though I haven't read that in a looong time, so that might not be completely accurate. But I mean, it's not like a children's book. It's pretty heavy, as I've said.
Oh, maybe I should share a quote I came across that I loved:
"Once upon a time there was a boy who loved a girl, and her laughter was a question he wanted to spend his whole life answering."
Maybe that'll compel you to read it. Haha.
Anyway. Yeah. Just putting that out there in case you wanna try it!
And I probably shouldn't waste so much time here cause I have a ton of work to do. But I shall talk to y'all later!
