Well, it's definitely November. And what does that mean?
That's right. THE CHRISTMAS OBSESSOR STRIKES EARLY. Day after Halloween, BAM. Halloween decorations are stuffed away and I'm dancing around singing God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen off-key.
It's all part of my charm. ; )
Anyway, it's not exactly feeling like Christmas yet but it sure is nasty today. Rain, and it's significantly colder. And hey, when was the last time you saw me make one of these lovely uniform sets I'm sure you missed? I can't believe I haven't made one in forever, but I suppose that's because uniform sets all look the same because ...
... it's a uniform. XDDD
And speaking of a uniform, I was walking down the hall after school (my school just started decorating today, just thought I'd put that out there, I'm apparently not the only one that's absolutely Christmas-crazy. I walked by a little christmas tree in the corner of the hall that I hadn't noticed earlier and it kind of made my day) and I pass an open door where I see a teacher with a huddle of parents touring our school and hear her saying some usual hoke like, "Our girls take their education outside the doors of our school. Parents come to me all the time saying how their daughters have sleepovers and talk about the Supreme Court," (or something like that), and I pass the door and tune into some girls shouting at the end of the hall about how excited they are for the holiday, and some girl hollers at the top of her lungs, "YEAH, THANKSGIVING!!! I'M GONNA STUFF MY FACE!!!"
LOL only my school...
What else do I have to talk about? Well... Thomas and I had dinner tonight.
ALRIGHT ALRIGHT ALRIGHT I have to keep talking about the holidays I'm so excited I just can't help it. :DDD Jen and I are hanging out in my room right now, she's folding up clothes and I'm on here and we're talking about holiday plans. That's why I'm even more obsessed than usual. Yknow, the beauty of divorced-kid life, figuring out where you're going for which holidays. Thankfully my plans are usually pretty set in stone. I stay in New York City for Thanksgiving and then head to Chicago the day after Christmas or whatever for New Years', and if I can shake it with my dad I might try asking to go to Chicago before Thanksgiving. Super short notice but I'm hoping he'll say yes seeing as this past year I've seen my Chicago family about half as much as usual, since I've been so busy.
Oh, and I acutally thought of something un-Christmas related - I've decided that I'm going to try and apply to get a Learner's Permit. To drive! Remember how I said Thomas has been teaching me? (Even though he's really not supposed to be...) Well, I really like driving and I've really been improving, so I announced that at dinner Monday night. Needless to say, I got a lot of strange stares from my family, which I suppose was the reaction I was expecting. Diana isn't really hip on paying up to get me a driver's license I'll use almost never when we're already paying for MTA transport, Dad is tense because he thinks I only want to get one because Thomas has one (the opposition that bugs me the most, that there's still tension between him and Thomas. He just looks for excuses, to be honest. He said, "Why else would you want one? No one in New York drives," and I said, "Because I actually LIKE driving," and he didn't buy it), Ella kept eating, and Jen just gave me a weird look and said, "Why?" in this tone as if I just said, "I'm going to go lick the subway tracks now".
I live in a family full of drama queens XD. I'm not giving up, I just have to work on them.
P.S. HAVE YOURSELF A MERRY LITTLE CHRISTMAS! MAKE THE YULETIDE GAY! SOON CHRISMTAS WON'T BE MILES AWAAAY!
