Day 02 – Your first love, in great detail
• Your first kiss, past relationships, your view on love, relationships, and men
Well, aren’t we moving along pretty fast now? Asking about love already, I see how things go.
My first kiss came when I was a freshman in high school at one of my parents many banquets. His name was Taylor, and he was just another son of another wealthy socialite couple that ran in my parents’ circle. The group of misfits, as well called ourselves, huddled in one of the empty rooms and played spin-the-bottle. It was my turn and the bottle landed on him. Macy, one of the other girls, pushed us into the closet intended for Taylor and I to kiss. It was awkward at first. I would lean in then he would lean in all at different angles, but then we finally found the right angle and our lips met. We kissed for a couple minutes longer than we should have, and Macy threw the door back and shot us glares. It turns out she had the biggest crush on Taylor; they ended up becoming a couple senior year of high school. But I’ll always be Taylor’s first kiss, not her (hopefully, you can tell how I don’t like Macy).
From freshman year of high school, boys were a constant in my life, but my first real relationship (but I don’t call it that) came during my college years. He wasn’t my boyfriend per say, rather he was one of my best friends that I met during my freshman of college. His name was Jackson Lawson, but I called him Jack. We met because I accidentally took his drink at the Starbucks in the student lounge, and from there blossomed our friendship. It turned out he was a senior and was graduating with a political science degree as well. It’s such a coincidence that we met, but I am so glad we did. Despite his graduation, we stayed close, /close/ friends to the point where I had a drawer at his place. We still swore that we were just friends, but to an outsider, our sleepovers were not friend status.
After I graduated, I wanted to stay. Jack had made room for me and everything was perfect, but my parents were calling and you can’t ignore their calls. I packed up my belongings, left him a long letter and left. I haven’t talked to him since more so because I’m ashamed of what I did. Hopefully one day, I’ll get the courage to call him and reach out to him.
Besides that, I haven’t had any other relationship. They look great. Being able to rely on someone, confide in them about everything, it all seems great. I just don’t have the time to sustain a relationship. My job is pretty much 24/7 seeing as I am always on call in case something happens.
Once I settle down and the job lets up maybe I’ll be able to have a boyfriend. Until then, I’m single and ready to mingle.
