    Holmegaard - Selandia
Only a few have influenced the Holmegaard design as much as Per Lütken. With 3000 designs along his 50 years career, he became a real glass legend. Long before “Organic” became a key-word in Danish design language, he experimented with the natural form of glass. Even after half a century, his design didn’t lose any of its expressibility. Holmegaard goes back to its roots with the Selandia bowl. Per Lütken designed Selandia in the year 1957 and created a classic with it. The characteristic design embodies the essence of modern glass art, but also expresses ancient glass techniques with its swung lines and its organic form. The Selandia bowl is a demanded collector’s piece today. Not at last for younger generations that search for elegant retro-coolness. Holmegaard re-enters Selandia to the market along contemporaneous furnishing-tendencies, as clear-glass sculptural arts object for the table or shelves, emphasizing the strongly minimalist bowl. With season-adapted fruits or as ultimate gift for Christmas, Selandia is the embodiment of Danish design in a current edition.

Holmegaard Mid Century Pitcher Set - 10 Pieces
Holmegaard Viking Amder glass bottle/wine decanter designed by Ole Winther in 1962 for Kastrup Holmegaard in Denmark. Features a Viking face on the side. In 1955, Ole Winther, a Danish ceramist, designed the "Viking" wine carafe for Holmegaard. This set includes a "Viking" head medallion embossed on the surface with the theme continued on the cups and bowls. The design started in 1955 as a made to order piece by Holmegaard, and available only in green. During the 1960's, Holmegaard put the piece into general production. It was at the time that general production began that the viking medallion was added and additional colors were made available. The carafes were machine blown, but they were designed with a coarse look to give them an old style, handmade glass appearance. To achieve the old look, bubbles and ripples were reproduced in the glass. An over-sized pour spout was hand-formed and applied to the rim of the carafe. Imported from Denmark. Excellent vintage condition, no chips or cracks. Additional Measurements: Cups measure: 2.5"W x 2.5"D x .75"H Bowls measure: 2.5"W x 2.5"D x 3"H Measurements below reflect the pitcher.

    Holmegaard - Perfection Carafe
There is more to enjoy a full-bodied glass of wine, than just buying a great vintage. An adequate temperature, the suitable glass and right decanting processes belong to the perfect serving of a wine. This is the reason why experts suggest using a suitable carafe, in order to set the fine aroma – even of a young wine – free. A carafe that will surely achieve in this is the Perfection by Holmegaard. Centrifugal forced because of design. If one opens the wine, letting it flow into a carafe, it will inevitably be in touch with air. But also the way of how and in what for a carafe one decants wine plays a great role. It is an artistic masterwork to catch the full aroma and let the wine breathe. That is the reason why the wine expert Tom Nybroe designed a carafe which wouldn't only look good, but also be innovative and fulfil the demands of a wine enthusiast. Clever air bubble and design. Another highlight of the Perfection carafe by Holmegaard is the bubble inside of it. A unique design with a clever idea: The carafe is more handy and the wine can be decanted easier, for professionals with an extended arm as well as for wine experts, enabling one-arm pouring. Moreover the design of the carafe avoids that too much air gets to the wine, losing the aroma, it ensures that the wine keeps its freshness and that it doesn't get dull. The construction of the Perfection carafe shows what the name already reveals: Long lasting wine enjoyment.

The wine glasses and their proportions are shaped so that the wine reaches the perfect conditions to unfold its whole aroma. Regarding its function, the designer Tom Nybroe has had a professional wine cellar in mind when he shaped this product. However, the series is perfectly adapted to all enthusiasts who have high demands on a glass. The Perfection glass series by Holmegaard includes glasses for red wine, white wine, champagne, water and meanwhile also a goblet. The Perfection drinking glasses were honoured with the iF Design Award in the year 2007.
