GIRLS OF THETA HOUSE-
Alaska de Sauveterre
tuesday 27th of november, 2012;
"You know, you didn't have to take me to an expensive restaurant for dinner" I told Scott, after we finished eating the dessert he had insisted on. It made me feel slightly sick that I had eaten a bowl of ice-cream without reasoning. It was the thought that counted though, it was a sweet gesture. No pun intended, either.
"I wanted to" Scott replied, his hand resting on mine on top of the table as he smiled. "Did you enjoy your ice-cream?" he asked as I wiped the corner of my mouth with the napkin. Nobody liked ice-cream moustaches or moustaches on women, at all, for that matter.
"It was delicious" I smiled, nodding. "You could have had anything but you asked for vanilla ice-cream" Scott chuckled, shaking his head at what seemed like my odd choice of dessert.
"I'm not that exciting" I shrugged, unable to wipe my smile off my face with him looking at me like that. "Yes, you are" Scott grinned, squeezing my hand.
"Whatever" I rolled my eyes playfully, "you still didn't have to do this all for me." Scott shook his head, it may take him a while to understand that I never enjoyed making a big fuss about myself.
"I'll pay the bill and we can go to the hotel" Scott said as we stood and went to pay for the meal. He forced me to turn my back as he did so, not allowing me to see the price of the meals and the total. "There's wine back at the room too" he added as we approached his car and slipped in.
"I'm not drinking and you're not drinking" I told him rather quickly, looking over at him with a serious expression. "Why's that?" he questioned me.
"Last time I witnessed you drink, you didn't know your limits nor did you control yourself" I reminded him, raising an eyebrow. Had he forgotten or had he chosen to push that awful memory aside?
"Alright, no drinking" Scott nodded understandingly, smiling as he glanced over for a brief moment.
It wasn't long until Scott had silenced the engine, walked around and opened the passenger door. We walked into the lobby, holding hands instantly and eventually, after collecting the key, standing in the elevator together.
My nerves hadn't yet caught up with tonight's events and plans. Nor did my palms that would usually sweat, get the memo.
"Here, we are" Scott chirped, fumbling with the key as we approached the door he happily booked. Tonight was the night and there was no backing out, though I don't think I wanted to.
I stepped in, glancing around the room before turning to face Scott. It was that moment that his lips had pressed against mine, I stumbled a little, leaning against the closed door. I kissed back gently, my hand resting gently on his cheek.
"I love you" I whispered, the first time I had spoken the three words aloud.
"I love you more" Scott responded, his lips still brushing against mine as he spoke. I shook my head in return to his statement, "I can prove it" he grinned.
"Prove it" I replied. I wasn't sure if it was me, it didn't seem like me but it sounded like my voice.
Tonight was the night memories were made.
