Street chic is a global cool.

Street chic is a global cool.

What is fashion? It is more than the runway; it's the people who wear them. How many times have you walked past a girl on the street and wished you were in her 4-inch-Louboutin-heels, wearing that stunning Lanvin top and swinging that YSL bag? Or how about the times when you sit in a cafe on the sidewalk, and from the corner of your eye you spot a lady running across the road in a flurry to get to the office, but still looking polished and ever so chic in her Prada pumps and Vera Wang coat?

Yes, street chic is an art form. It's about being cutting edge, imaginative, trend-setting, and marrying that with comfort and practicality. It's about wearing that shirt differently from everyone else, or matching that skirt and bag in a way no one could ever think of; not even Lagerfeld or Cavalli. It's about being YOU.

Submit sets of your idea of street chic. YOU be the artist, YOU be the judge. Whatever you think defines YOUR own style, YOUR idea of fashion, share it here!

Please do not spam/ write hate messages on other people's sets. Just because you don't agree, does not mean you have to publicly hate it. Constructive comments are fine; hate messages aren't. Please also remember this group is solely for fashion sets, and anything else will be deleted. Also know that this is a creative fashion group, so let's keep it at that. Art sets and very very mundane sets (read: plain jeans plain shoes plain plain top) will not be tolerated. Love y'all folks!

I ♥ ALEXANDER WANG

I ♥ ALEXANDER WANG

"Anyone can get all dresses up and glamorous, but it is how people dress in their off days, that are the most intriguing. Its during these in between, wayward days when a persons true style emerges from their everyday life, forming the basis of Alexander Wangs collection where clean, classic, luxurious and refined silhouettes are introduced to an urban street provocative ideal. Like the collection itself, the girls he dresses stand out, but not in the obvious ways. More like the black sheep in a crowd.. inspiring, surprising and slightly mysterious. The directive in Alexs vision is upholding your own individuality, and breaking the conventional idea of a predictable uniform. A tee shirt and jeans can be just as sexy and stylish as an evening gown. The ways in which his clothes are unabashedly styled and worm are as imperative to him as the clothes themselves. Alexs love for contrasts is reflected troughout the collection with juxtaposing notes of street and luxe, sexy versus androgyny, and where vagabond meets a street smart modernist."

The Color Bucket

The Color Bucket

This group is devoted to color mixing. The contests held are mainly based on color combo. So it is all about how much you are capable of mixing colors, to make the set stand out. All types of sets and layouts are accepted. The judging will be based on how successful you use the color combo and how you balance it in the set.

Magazine Layout

Magazine Layout

Welcome to Polyvore fashion magazine! Recently I've seen new kind of sets, I would call them EDITORIALS: they look like pages from a magazine: it includes a title, text in the background and photos - these sets are more than welcomed here!

We give an 'eff about the Oxford comma.

We give an 'eff about the Oxford comma.

the greatest thing in the world? writing.
here on polyvore, we have the epic "roleplaying".
ever want to write without having to create a character?
well, i'm here to solve that problem for you.

this is a group on polyvore where you enter your writing. this includes,
-rants
-letters
-blogs
-roleplay stories/ads
-diary entires of your life...

our message for you?
BE YOUR OWN CHARACTER.

if you've ever wanted to put
your writings/blurbs somewhere...
well, here you go.

THE 3 GUIDELINES TO FINE WRITING;
1) comment on the sets entered into the group! make friends with fellow writers...we don't bite. well, not most of the time. beware when we have writer's block though.

2) participate in contests. i'll have themed-contests for different types of writing.
it'll be fun. and a great way to get "featured" and promoted.

3) please, please: only join/enter sets if you are serious with your writing or simply have some sort of love for it.

so once again,
be your own character.

write.

and in case you were wondering?
"The 'Oxford comma' is an optional comma before the word 'and' at the end of a list:
ex., We sell books, videos, and magazines.

It's known as the Oxford comma because it was traditionally used by printers, readers, and editors at Oxford University Press. Not all writers and publishers use it, but it can clarify the meaning of a sentence when the items in a list are not single words:
ex., These items are available in black and white, red and yellow, and blue and green.

The Oxford comma is also known as the 'serial comma'."
