Hi All! It's Savannah here with a tip for all the girls out there with natural curls.. I'm going to be helping you with a how to on straightening them out.
This is what i do what i want to straighten my hair. this is not i repeat NOT off a website!
This will work best if you have hair like mine!!
My hair is moderately, to heavily thick (as you can see)
I do not often have ringlets. I usually have loose curls.
I am light skinned.
Here is a how to on how to straighten naturally curly hair.
Both these pictures are of me, the one on the left is with my natural curls (on a better day!), and the one on the right is my straightened hair.
HERE WE GO!
▷What you need◁
-a flat iron
-flat iron protectant spray
Turn on your flat iron. duh.
this is the flat iron i use. it was kind of expensive, but TOTALLY worth it.
it goes up to 450 F. eek
Pull all your hair except the bottom most layer, into a bun on the top of your head.
use a comb to gently brush through any tangles, combs and picks are better than brushes because brushes tend to break and yank out hair.
spray a small section of the lower part of your hair with heat protect spray. i use this--

▷Step 5 run your flat iron through the hair..
▷Step 6 repeat steps 4&5 until your bottom layer is straight. you might have to use a mirror to see the back of your hair.
▷Step 7 if you would like, use some smoothing serum. i use-http://www.amazon.com/Control-Freak-Serum-TIGI-Unisex/dp/B000VTQCIY
you don't need very much.
▷Step 8 take down your bun and put another part of your hair down. you now should have one part left to do, re-tie that on the top of your head
repeat steps 3, 4, &5 until your second layer is flat. this might take a while because now you have more hair to straighten.
▷Step 10 take down your bun and take the rest of the hair out (or part if your hair is extra thick)
▷Step 11 repeat steps 3 4 and 5.
your hair should be all down now and mostly straight. run the flat iron in the back to make sure it is straight in the back and in any other places.
▷Step 13 use serum if necessary to re-smooth hair.
DONE! here is some additional information--
▷I recommend straightening your hair when you have NOT just washed it. it works better
▷If you have just washed your hair, DO NOT START STRAIGHTENING IT. IT WILL FRY YOUR HAIR. wait for it to air dry, or if you do not have time, blow dry it!
▷If you are taking your time to make it extra flat it will take a while. it takes me an average of 40 minutes to make it very flat.
▷invest in a good flat iron or it will take longer.
▷use the heat protectant spray or you will damage your hair.
▷only straighten your hair if you really want to. curls are so much better anyway ;) rock your curls.
