  • 12 Hair, Makeup and Nail Trends We Need to Retire in 2012--Including the Eye Makeup Look EVERYONE Seems to Hate!
    More info
In honor of the last few days of 2012, I polled my favorite hairstylist, makeup artists and Glamour bloggers to find out which beauty trends they'd like to retire going into the new year. Which do you agree/disagree with? 12. Tinkerbell blushes A little shimmer or sheen is one thing, but enough with the blushes that have visible chunks of glitter. "It looks harsh, bringing out wrinkles and pores and all your skin's textures," says makeup artist Nick Barose. "If it's daylight out, I don't wanna see people wearing sparkly cheeks unless your name is Beyonce and you have a music video you're about to shoot." 11. Lip-plumping products These seemed so promising way back when they first came out, but we've long since figured out that they do next to nothing to fatten our lips--so maybe it's time we gave up on the concept already? "All they do is irritate your lips," says makeup artist Carmindy. "Instead just trace your lips with a highlighter for a fuller look." 10. Stupid nail art. OK, by now we've realized there are all kinds of crazy things that we can glue to nails. But just because we CAN doesn't mean we should.
