I let my lips twitch in anticipation as I wandered Salem's Abbey. Summer had been dull, for some reason Idaho didn't hold all of its usual exciting adventures, because so much happens there. All pleasant thoughts were gone as I was pushed yet again by some extremely rude mother trying to buy supplies for her darling little first year.
I looked through the masses to try an spot someone familiar.
"Piper, have you seen Artemis?"
I looked down to see Ophelia. I didn't know much about her, but she was fairly nice I suppose. I shook my head at her before trying once again to spot someone.
"oh, there she is." I nodded over to where Artemis was about to enter the Oddities shop. "Artemis."
She turned before entering, and seeing us paused outside the entrance. Ophelia and I struggled through the crowd, more mothers sending glares our way for trying to get through. I gritted my teeth before I finally was in fresh air again.
"this is ridiculous." I muttered, but couldn't help letting out a laugh.
Ophelia agreed. "You just have to push those under-classmen out of the way."
Artemis looked on with an amused expression on her face as I nodded, deciding to keep that fact in mind for when it was time to fight through them again.
"We were heading towards the tram, you want to join us Art?"
She shook her head at my question. "Thanks, but I promised Simon..."
She didn't have to finish her sentence, Ophelia throwing her a knowing look. "Why don't you just make it official already?'
At that a slightly disturbed expression appeared on her face. "That would be like dating my brother, gross."
I smirked slightly, muttering under my breath. "Denial."
Artemis simply shook her head and waved as she went off to find Simon. I parted from Ophelia as well, deciding to just wander for a bit, before getting bored and heading to take a tram.
I smiled as I found an empty compartment and settled down in it. I pulled out a notebook, getting to planning the week. There was so much already to do. Quidditch tryouts were coming up and I would need to see who was interested in trying out, as captain I was going to make sure I had the best team possible for Ventus.
"Why am I not surprised to find you alone, loner?"
"Hello Ander." I paused for a second before snapping my head up, my eyes narrowing slightly. "Hey, I'm not a loner."
He chuckled softly before settling across from me. "No, of course not. You just don't like to be around people. Or have many friends."
I rolled my eyes. "What is it, bash on Piper day? I have friends, thank you very much. What do you think you are, arm candy?"
I realized my mistake as soon as I said it, as he leaned back with his arms behind his head, a lazy smirk drawled across his lips.
"I know I'm attractive Piper, the flattery isn't need." He paused before picking right back up, "But it is much appreciated." He finished off with a wink and I responded by making a face at him.
He laughed, reaching across to shove my shoulder lightly.
"Hey." I straightened myself back out.
"It's good to be back Piper."
