Romantic Vintage Ballet Flats - Le Bunny Bleu
Day Four | Your Favorite Singer
It's a little cliche and definitely mainstream, but Taylor Swift is my favorite singer. I remember first hearing 'Teardrops on My Guitar' on the bus and I hated it. I lived outside my school district and rode the bus with kids who lived in more rural areas. They lived on farms and we listened to country music on the bus. I resented anything that played on that radio station. But the more I listened to that song, the more it spoke to me. She talked about liking a boy and him not noticing. Girls were just starting to like boys and the hierarchy was forming. I had no idea who I was, where I was going, and the only thing I wanted was to feel accepted. Over the past 6 years Taylor Swift is the reason I believe in fairy tales, in love, and the reason I don't feel so alone. I went to her concert last September and I almost cried the night was so flawless. She's an inspiration to me - music wise, fashion wise, career wise, and most importantly personality wise. She can stay at home watching Law & Order SVU with her cat and bake a cake and she embraces that. She makes me feel okay for not wanting to grow up so fast, for not wanting to start doing teenage things that I'll regret. There's a quote by her that says, "People haven't always been there for me but music always has." That quote couldn't be more true and her music is what has gotten me through most of these past 6 years. I don't care what people say about her but she'll always be a huge influence on my life.
