Other features include Alfonso Iaccarinoâs organic farm, the new Italian three-star restaurant in Abruzzo known as Reale, and the Italian appreciation for offal (supported by astonishingly romantic photography of the ingredients), photoshoots with Carlo Mirarchi, a look at regional culinary traditions, an eternal guide to Rome, and a search for mythical chef-figure Fulvio Pierangelini, who reveals his dislike for recipe-writing and cookbooks in general. Fool is a cutting edge cult food and culture publication from co-editors-in-chief Per-Anders and Lotta Jörgensen. Highlighting contemporary gastronomy. Food, insanity, brilliance and love.

    nordstrom.com
Women's Fornasetti 'Fior Di Bacio - Flora' Lidded Candle
Italian painter, sculptor and engraver Piero Fornasetti considered most objects a canvas. From umbrella stands to side tables to decorative trays, the legendary Italian artist and designer put his signature whimsical mark on over 11,000 objects. The Fornasetti legacy continues today with his son Barnaba, who reinterprets the world famous motifs onto a collection of scented decorative objects. The Fior di Bacio candle design is a classic dual-faced reworking of the iconic lips of Lina Cavalieri-an Italian opera singer and the most frequently appearing muse of Piero Fornasetti-now with a floral twist. Fior di Bacio is both a figurative expression meaning ""flowers in the mouth,"" as well as play on words meaning ""the best of kisses."" The candle is made from hand-poured, 100% vegetal wax and fills your home the warm scent of Flora. Once your candle has burned away, the jar can be used as decoration.Notes:- Top: ivy, lily of the valley, white rose.- Middle: iris, orange blossom, jasmine.- Base: tuberose, sandalwood, musk. The poster is unlined and the edges are slightly frayed but this will not show once framed. "Henry Moore (30 July 1898 – 31 August 1986) was an English sculptor and artist. He was best known for his abstract monumental bronze sculptures which are located around the world as public works of art. His forms are usually abstractions of the human figure, typically depicting mother-and-child or reclining figures. Moore's works are usually suggestive of the female body, apart from a phase in the 1950s when he sculpted family groups. His forms are generally pierced or contain hollow spaces. Many interpreters liken the undulating form of his reclining figures to the landscape and hills of his birthplace,Yorkshire."'

Art Poster - Vittorio Fiorucci, 1991
An original 1991 Vittorio Fiorucci "La Veuve Joyeuse de Lehar" poster from Sub-Culture to Mainstream, the Evolving Poster Art of Publicité Sauvage. Montrealers are fortunate to live in a city that has always celebrated posters and street art. Although posters have adorned hoardings and buildings in and around our metropolis for over a century, over the last three decades the engine for this urban conversation has been the locally grown poster company Publicité Sauvage. Karen Etingin, the owner of L’Affichiste, and Isabelle Jalbert, the Director of Publicité Sauvage, have selected fifty posters from the vast Publicité Sauvage archives - each a visual reference to the concerts, exhibitions and events that have taken place in Montreal over the last 27 years. About Vittorio: The fun, colorful and timeless posters of Vittorio Fiorucci have earned him the reputation of one of Canada's most renown graphic designers. Vittorio, as he is known, immigrated to Canada from Italy in 1951 in search of career opportunities. He soon began associating with various Montreal artists, frequenting the Place des arts studios where he began experimenting with printing and photography. By the 1960s, Vittorio was a successful art director for various magazines and had received his first poster commissions. His posters can be abstract or figurative, depending on the message they seek to transmit. His versatility and thorough understanding of the poster as a medium for mass communication has led him to produce what many critics of his art deem to be timeless posters, that defy the conventions of style and passing trends. These posters are now available for purchase for the first time. They are in limited quantities of five prints each.

It is numbered and signed beneath the image “EA. , Aizpiri," both in pencil. It is in excellent condition with some very light stains on the left edge and some very, very light toning in the margins. Paul Aizpiri, Born in Paris in 1919 with a Basque and Italian upbringing, Aizpiri studied painting at L’Ecole des Beaux-Arts. He started exhibiting in 1943, his talent appreciated and bolstered by public acceptance, the progress enabled him to have many exhibitions held in various countries around the world. 1956 was the year his path as an artist was altered, that year he met with Foujita, Soutine, Van Dongen, Utillo and Picasso, who greatly influenced his style and work. Aizpiri’s passion for nature and families are evident in his artworks. The bold brushstrokes and the bright colored palette he brandishes in his vibrant figurative paintings are symbolic of his joy and satisfaction in life. His recent works are painted poetry filled with a glow of love with such motifs as children, bicycles, airplanes, birds, fish and the sun, flying over the skies of Paris, Saint Tropez and Venice.

  • Vintage 1960s Moulin Rouge Poster by Rene Gruau
    chairish.com
Vintage 1960s Moulin Rouge Poster by Rene Gruau
Vintage 1960s Moulin Rouge poster by artist, Rene Gruau. About The Poster: Moulin Rouge is a cabaret in Paris, France best known as the spiritual birthplace of the modern form of the can-can dance. Originally introduced as a seductive dance by the courtesans who operated from the site, the can-can dance revue evolved into a form of entertainment of its own and led to the introduction of cabarets across Europe. Today, the Moulin Rouge is a tourist attraction, offering musical dance entertainment for visitors from around the world. The club's decor still contains much of the romance of fin de siècle France. Since 1963 and the success of the Frou-Frou revue, out of superstition Jacki Clérico chooses only revue titles that start with the letter F. Naturally, the famous French cancan is performed at every revue. (Wikipedia) This image of Rene Gruau's was used for the cover of Jean-Luc Planche's book titled 'Moulin Rouge!' which delves into the history of the cabaret through archival photographs. About the Artist: Rene Gruau (Italian) 1909-2004 - With his stunning, passionate, figures, his arresting use of color and dramatic, explosive element of line, Rene Gruau developed his distinctive “New Look” in the 1940s which greatly impacted haute couture, theatre, art, and commercial design. He worked for magazines like Harper's Bazaar and Vogue in the US, Femina, Marie Claire, L'Officiel, L'Album du Figaro and other well known publication in France as well as for internationally known organizations like the Moulin Rouge and Bemberg. With Rene Gruau's trademark use of his powerful minimal line, Gruau’s style combined seductive sophistication with classic beauty, grace and sensual elegance. The quality of the visual appeal of Gruau's glamorous and radiant “beautiful people” is at once bold and languid. Internationally Gruau’s artwork is celebrated internationally noted for its' exceptional and masterful line, and its' timeless, enduring style. Today Gruau’s works are collected and exhibited by the finest art institutions including the Louvre in Paris. (various sources)

    chairish.com
Rare Buccellati "Maschera Ligorica" Letter Opener
An exceptional, visually arresting sterling silver 'Maschera Ligorica' mask letter opener made by Italian luxury jeweler, Buccellati. The Buccellati family has a long tradition of working with precious metals and gemstones which spans more than 250 years. The company has supplied the royal families of Italy, Spain and Egypt with fine jewelry and sterling hollowware, in addition to creating pieces for the Vatican. Buccellati's distinctive pieces are easily recognizable and sought after for their exceptional quality and exquisite craftsmanship. This gorgeous, highly detailed sterling silver letter opener was produced as part of a series of masks crafted by Buccellati in the late 1960's and 1970's. Titled 'Maschera Ligorica', the top of the letter opener features the head of a Dionysius-like figure. The man is depicted with a smiling open-mouthed expression with flowing facial hair and long locks. The top of his head is finished with a shell-like arched crown which provides a great visual contrast with the undulating lines found in his swirling hair. The body of the letter opener has a long tapering, pointed blade with a beveled edge. The clean lines of the blade contrast nicely with the detailed mask at the top of the piece, giving the letter opener a sense of balance. The letter opener has a nice heft, weight 8 ounces, and shows slight signs of age, including minor scuffs and scratches to the surface. These irregularities only serve to add to the vintage appeal of the piece. Bears the Buccellati hallmark, reading "BUCCELLATI ITALY" along with the word "STERLING'. This fabulous sterling letter opener displays beautifully and would make a wonderful addition to a collection of fine letter openers, or works well as a stand alone decorative object kept in an office or on a desk.
