The Jason Wu spring 2013 show was all about textures, effects and transparency, with a little sparkle thrown in for good measure. Wu has long excelled at creating pieces that strike the perfect balance of drawing room sophistication and studied femininity, and this collection was no exception. From the sheer tulle ball gowns to peek-a-boo blouses and mixed fabric lace and leather skirts, it was a master class on modern, sensual dressing. The collection’s focus on the qualities of the materials used was only enhanced by the stark palette—black, white and navy with nougat underpinnings. The best use of inner wear as outerwear we’ve seen in quite a while, and a collection we very much look forward to seeing in stores.
