  • Skargaarden Haringe Armchair
    shophorne.com
The Haringe series of teak furniture is refined elegance for indoors, outdoors or anything in between. The sophistication of the series makes it ideal for around the swimming pool, in the game room or just about anywhere. The teak slats are framed with either stainless steel or black stainless steel. The cushions are given a sophisticated touch through the use of buttons and decorative stitching so they are not waterproof but the beauty is still undeniable. The cushions are available in either a weather durable Sunbrella fabric or in imitation leather with loose patches sewn together by hand and buttons added along the seams. The leather cushions are for indoor use only. The series has an armchair, lounge chair, sofa, and cocktail tables in 2 sizes as well as 3 sizes of a dining table. As with all teak furniture, to maintain the original luster the teak requires to be oiled once or twice a year. If left untreated the wood will develop a silvery gray patina which is equally beautiful.
  • Stephen Kenn Inheritance Armchair - Military Canvas
    shophorne.com
Los Angeles based designer Stephen Kenn has long been inspired by clean and simple design aesthetics and the stories inherent in vintage military fabrics. In 2011 he combined those two loves by creating The Inheritance Collection. The collection was the result of an exploration of how furniture is constructed, and then a desire to distill the process down to the barest bones. Likening the process of furniture construction to the way the human body is constructed, the frame, belts, and cushions became the bones, muscles, and skin of each piece. Military canvas cushion covers, webbing and leather belts interwoven atop a metal frame. Made in Los Angeles, the collection is inspired by the characteristic principles of Soviet Modernism and bold interpretations of Brutalist Architecture through the simplification of form, receptive angular geometries and functional design.

The armchair is handmade in our Norfolk factory with an FSC approved beech frame, jute webbing and hessian straps. It is covered with a mix of materials that includes natural fibres, animal hair and wool. The seat cushion is feather filled. Also available as a armchair. Made to order in Norfolk, England. • Matthew Hilton Solstice Armchair
    shophorne.com
Solstice is a relaxed design that developed from the seed of an idea to create a fully upholstered piece that sits directly on the floor at the back. It is made from a European hardwood frame, zig-zag springs, jute webbing, hessian straps and covered with a mix of materials that includes natural fibres, animal hair and wool. Subtle piping and seam details on the arms and cushion faces act as a counterpoint to the swooping curve of the design. Also available as a three seat sofa. Made to order in Norfolk, England. Available in a wide range of other fabrics and leathers.
  • Artek Paimio Armchair
    shophorne.com
As part of the permanent collection in the Museum of Modern Art, the Paimio Chair is an icon in furniture design. The chair was created by Alvar Aalto in 1932 as part of the furniture he designed for the tuberculosis sanatorium in the city of the same name. The frame that forms the armrests and floor runners are 2 closed loops of laminated wood. Between these rests a single sheet of plywood bent in such a way as to challenge just how far wood can be bent. The headrest and seat edge are tightly rolled to provide the greatest resiliency while the angle was chosen to provide the best position for the patient’s optimal breathing comfort. This remarkable chair is offered with a clear lacquered frame and a seat lacquered in black or white.
