  • Aubrey Bodine Photography, Skyscraper 2
    williams-sonoma.com
Regarded as one of the finest pictorialists of the twentieth century, Aubrey Bodine's photos have been exhibited in hundreds of shows and scores of museums. A newspaperman, he covered a variety of stories with his camera—news events, famous people and unusual places—all of which gave him the opportunity to travel and learn. Out of his experiences came remarkable documentary photos, which won him top honors in national and international competitions. Many of his pictures were composed in the viewfinder of the camera, while others were manipulated with dyes and intensifiers, and through pencil marking and scraping techniques. He strongly believed that the quality of the final picture was more important than the manner in which it was made. In this black and white print, he uses architecture to create a highly dramatic patterned print. 34"W x 41"H overall. Giclée printed on glossy paper. Limited edition, signed by the artist. Set behind plexiglass with a white mat. Wood frame with a black painted finish. Ready to hang with D-rings at the back. Made in USA.

Pointing his camera skyward, artist Edward Asher freezes a cloud bank in time, inviting contemplation of the mysterious ways in which water vapor takes shape in our skies. Through a revolutionary new process, Asher's original photograph has been printed directly onto the reflective surface of brushed aluminum, enlivening the image even more when viewed under track lighting or natural light.
