Junghans - Max Bill Wall Clocks, Numbers
Also this wall clock from Max Bill is a consequent expression and immediate realization of the formal ground principles of the artist. Clearness and functionality are shown as base and continuum of his aesthetics in this clock. Max Bill designed the shapely and timelessly modern wall clocks in the year 1957. His clocks’ collection for Junghans reflects the tension between strong, reduced design on one side and the usage of flowing, natural forms on the other side. The Max Bill clocks are still today real classic examples for the strength of a simple idea, while for example his door-push, which emerged in his Ulm times, doesn’t only get its strength out of the simple form but also out of harmonic lines that follow natural function. The high quality workout is displayed in every Max Bill designed clock: also this battery powered quartz clockwork is longevity and reliable. This edition with numbers in the background offers time-security, even by a fast and short glimpse to the wall where it hangs. Bitte beachten Sie unsere Informationen zur Entsorgung.

Junghans Max Bill Wall Clock With Numbers
Design Max Bill, 1957. Aluminum, mineral glass, quartz movement. Made in Germany by Junghans. The work of max bill was a continuous balancing act between free art and applied art, between severe, reduced forms and flowing natural ones, between philosophical thinking and practical application. Examining the subject of "time" was a fascinating challenge for max bill, and one that occupied him for decades. A remarkable example of his work is a wall clock he designed for junghans in 1956/57. Rarely has the interplay of hour and minute been portrayed in a more stylized and elegantly simple way than with this clock, which can be seen today in the world's most important design museum - the museum of modern art. Max bill - a product of the bauhaus generation, pupil of walter gropius and kindred spirit of le corbusier and mies van der rohe - was a virtuoso designer and creative artist, as his diverse activities as a painter, architect, sculptor, teacher and designer amply demonstrate. His work is characterised by a clarity of design and precise proportions which are unrivalled to this day. The Max Bill wall clock with numbers features a polished aluminum housing, white aluminum dial, chromium plated pointer, mineral glass and a quartz clock battery-operated movement. Medium: 8.7" dia. | 2.25" D. Large: 11.8" dia. | 2.25" D.
