    Bubble Club Armchair By Kartell
A veritable icon made by Kartell, the mass-tinted polypropylene Bubble Club Armchair was a pioneer of a new concept in furniture accessories: the industrial chair made entirely of plastic. Technology and research made it possible for Kartell to mass produce what was traditionally handmade. Bubble Club is a roomy armchair, characterized by the soft line of its armrests, in contrast with the more rational lines of the backrest. This is a minimalist silhouette, reminiscent of the lines of "granny's sofa." Along with the couch and the small table, produced with the same finish and colors, Bubble Club Armchair is now a complete family, nothing less than an "industrial living-room." Thanks to their exceptional weather resistance, all three members of the Bubble Club family can survive perfectly outdoors and are ideal for furnishing gardens, pool sides and patios. Features: Made of smooth batch-dyed polyethylene. Can be used indoors or outdoors. Suitable for residential or commercial use. Made in Italy.

The Kartell 4801 armchair was originally designed in 1965 by the Italian master of design Joe Colombo , he was considered to be one of the true design geniuses who died prematurely at the age of 41 in 1979. The 4801 chair was considered to be one of Joe's greatest designs and it was originally made from plywood, it was Kartell's first ever wooden chair and it was a change of direction for the company that exclusively produced furniture in plastic. Due to Kartell's modern industrial technology the chair has been reissued in 2011 and is now manufactured from plastic, way back in the 60s this complex and curvy chair could not be made from plastic after several failed attempts to produce it they settled on wood. This reissued version has the exact same proportions as the original Kartell armchair. The original design is much sought after in auctions and can be seen in some of the world’s most illustrious museums such as Museum of Modern Art (MOM A) New York, the Victoria and Albert in London, and the Centre Pompidou in Paris. Kartell - Papyrus Armchair
Papyrus is the modern version of a traditional wicker chair from the designer Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec. The refined design of the two French is realized by the Italian manufacturer Kartell in a transparent polycarbonate. Simplicity, exclusivity, grace and retrospectives melt together in Papyrus to a modern achetype of the classic wicker chairs. Despite the plastic material that Papyrus is made of, the chair plays with the construction and structure of a wicker chair with plaited seats and wooden frames: behind the transparent seat from Papyrus hides a carrying structure that is lead through the curved surface of the backrest with its soft bowl form and that finally flows forming the frame. The classic design of Papyrus is contrasted by the used materials. The Italian company Kartell’s experience goes back to many years of manufacturing plastic furniture, now they decided to use transparent polycarbonate for the Papyrus chair. The robust material offers an extremely modern and weightless appeal to the chair. The transparent chair is offered by Kartell in a selection of colours in a retro-trend.

    Kartell Joe Colombo 4801 Armchair
Design Joe Colombo. Transparent or batch-dyed PMMA. Made in Italy by Kartell. For the first time in its 60-year history, Kartell will pay homage to one of the most iconic - and perhaps uncharacteristic - pieces in its archive with the reissue of Joe Colombo's 4801 Armchair. Originally designed by the Italian master in 1965, the 4801 chair is famous for being the only Kartell piece ever to be made entirely of wood. Now, nearly fifty years later, Kartell has developed the complex and technically challenging engineering methods necessary to produce the design as originally envisioned, in its signature plastic. An authentic symbol of design in the '60s, the highly sought-after 4801 chair is revered by private collectors and institutions alike, and has been displayed internationally at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Victoria & Albert Museum in London and the Centre Pompidou in Paris. The second generation of the 4801 chair is to be available in a numbered series beginning in February 2012, captures the curving sinuous lines and exact proportions of Colombo's design, now in sleek transparent or white and black plastic (PMMA). Joe Colombo, in his design utopia, gathered many of the common hopes of the 60's in Italy and Europe but was never slave to ideological bounds. His extremely fast escalation in becoming an internationally known designer brought him three medals at the XIII Triennale in Milan, the 1967 Compasso d'Oro award and creations which are included in permanent collections around the world. 24.4" w | 25.2" d | 27.2" h | seat: 9.8" h.
