The chair is suitable for many different rooms in the home and can easily be used for different purposes as needs change. The Era collection is designed to transcend generations and is just as at home with lovers of design or families with children, as it is with young couples or their grandparents. The Era Lounge Chair is available in both a high and low version. The legs are available in oak, walnut, black lacquered steel or chrome, as well a chrome frame for the rocking chair. A footstool is also available for the Era collection, allowing ample opportunity for comfortable relaxation and rest for the feet. Simon Legald says: "It took a while to get the proportions and the interaction between the soft curves and straight lines on the shells just right. It was crucial that the upholstering and stitching were carried out with the utmost precision. I wanted to create individual chairs where each one had its own character. I did this through the variations of the high and low versions, and by the different frames available for the chair. For example, the wooden frames are flat and add warmth while the slimmer, round steel and chrome frames give a more industrial feel. Finally, the frame for the rocking chair is a slightly unexpected and playful choice for a lounge chair”. Priced with Gabriel Breeze Fusion Upholstery--Other materials available. • Artek Tank Armchair 400 - White
    shophorne.com
The modern flair of armchair 400 was created by Finnish designer Alvar Aalto in 1936 and has become one of his most iconic designs which has earned a place in the Museum of Modern Art as part of its permanent collection. The chair makes a statement to the careful thought of the designer with its bent arms, solid wood frame with metal springs and upholstered foam cushion. This gives the armchair a substantial feel and the low-slung sled base has earned it the nickname of the “tank”. The Tank Armchair has a clear lacquered birch frame with a white fabric seat. The chair is also available using the customer's own material.
  • Skargaarden Haringe Armchair
    shophorne.com
The Haringe series of teak furniture is refined elegance for indoors, outdoors or anything in between. The sophistication of the series makes it ideal for around the swimming pool, in the game room or just about anywhere. The teak slats are framed with either stainless steel or black stainless steel. The cushions are given a sophisticated touch through the use of buttons and decorative stitching so they are not waterproof but the beauty is still undeniable. The cushions are available in either a weather durable Sunbrella fabric or in imitation leather with loose patches sewn together by hand and buttons added along the seams. The leather cushions are for indoor use only. The series has an armchair, lounge chair, sofa, and cocktail tables in 2 sizes as well as 3 sizes of a dining table. As with all teak furniture, to maintain the original luster the teak requires to be oiled once or twice a year. If left untreated the wood will develop a silvery gray patina which is equally beautiful.

  • Knoll International Knoll - Bertoia Chair
    connox.com
Design classic: Wire chair made of steel In the early 1950s the designer Harry Bertoia designed a number of seating furniture with steel frame, which "mostly consist of air " said the designer himself. The Bertoia Chair and Diamond Chair are the most popular ones of these designs. Now elevated to design classics, the designs symbolically stand for the innovative design of the 50s and its inventor: Harry Bertoia. Sculptural chair made of steel wire The Bertoia Chair is made of steel wire, which is hand drawn and hand welded in a highly complicated process. Thanks to the industrial material and the flowing form, the Bertoia Chair acts like a sculptural work of art, whose delicate silhouette seems to hide about the strength and stability of the construction. Colours, options & accessories As a re-edition, the Bertoia Chair is produced by Knoll after the original designs of the designer. Available in different versions, the chair is suitable for the living area as well - with Rilsan coating also outdoors for the garden or the terrace. Optional seat cushions in different colours, fabrics and leather variants are available on request.

    dwr.com
Who else but Philippe Starck would dare mess with a king? Reinventing the classic Louis XVI armchair for Kartell, the playful Louis Ghost Armchair (2002) is a postmodern triumph of technical innovation and historical style. Translating the varied lines and formal geometry of its predecessor into a single form of injection-molded polycarbonate, the Louis Ghost is a robust chair with a medallion backrest for leisurely comfort. When interviewed about the collection by the Dallas Morning News, Starck commented that it “has a mix ofand styles based on our shared memories. We all own this piece in a way. The chair is well balanced; I try to be balanced myself.” Suitable for indoor and outdoor use in residential and commercial settings. Stacks six high. Made in Italy. Sold as a Set of 2. The single-piece injection-molding process used in making every Ghost Chair leaves behind several faint artifacts that are perfectly normal, not defects.

  • Jeffrey Bernett and Nicholas Dodziuk Raleigh Armchair in Leather
    dwr.com
Raleigh (2009) is a comfortable collection that draws from midcentury Danish design. It features an exposed solid wood frame that wraps around the back (be sure to click on additional views above to see it) to support the seating area while lending visual lightness and satisfying tension to the whole. Unlike other exposed-frame collections that force overly upright sitting positions, Raleigh is designed with a carefully canted seatback for a more natural way of situating yourself as you relax and unwind. We chose to work with Jeffrey Bernett and Nicholas Dodziuk on this project because of the importance they place on people – how they move, interact, live and, most of all, sit. The Raleigh Collection received Interior Design magazine’s top honor for 2010 in the residential lounge category. Made in U.S.A.
