Design Ross Lovegrove, 2008. Powder-coated steel, glass. Made in USA by Knoll. Recognized for forward-thinking, organically-inspired products crafted in innovative materials, Ross Lovegrove achieves a new level of clarity with his collection for Knoll Studio. His work incorporates both traditional and cutting edge materials to shape pieces that are at once sculptural and practical. Lovegrove tri-oval low tables can be used as coffee tables or as pull-up low surfaces next to Lovegrove rectangular table desks. Ross Lovegrove studied design at Manchester Polytechnic and subsequently trained at the Royal College of Art in London. At frog design, he contributed to the design of the Sony Walkman and Apple computers. As an in-house designer for Knoll International in Paris, Lovegrove worked on the Alessandri office system. As a co-member of the Atelier de Nimes, along with Philippe Starck and Jean Nouvel, he acted as a design consultant to Luis Vuitton, Cacharel, Dupont and Hermés. In 1990, he created Studio X in London. Lovegrove is inspired by forms of the natural world, the possibilities of new manufacturing techniques and the ability to evoke an emotional response in users. The Lovegrove collection of executive office furniture is available in a range of finish and surface options. The table top is available in Starphire™ glass (low iron content making the glass more clear and luminous than regular glass), bronze colored glass, bamboo and acid etched glass painted on the underside in your choice of green, blue or red. The steel base is available powder-coated in either metallic bronze, robin's egg blue, silver or white. The Tri Oval tables are available in two heights.
