“You owe our kingdom an awful lot Luanna” King Simon had said to the Queen.
King Simon was the king of 1Derland. Queen Luanna and King Filo had their own little country. The two were sister countries until a war started between their people.
The reason why the fight was started is unknown to this day.
“I know Simon. What can we do?” she asked.
“You’re pregnant, right my dear?” King Simon asked.
Queen Luanna nodded.
“Now Simon, I don’t see what this has to do with anything.” King Filo said.
“I’ve recently adopted five babies. Your daughter is to marry the only one that I haven’t promised. The fourth eldest of the five.” King Simon said.
“If it is the only way, it is a deal.” Queen Luanna said.
“Very well then, your daughter is to be married on the day of her eighteenth birthday, combining the two kingdoms, thus relieving your dues to my kingdom.” King Simon said.
It was settled, and the monarchs left to their separate kingdoms.
“We cannot let our daughter be wed to him. She should have the freedom to choose whomever she pleases.” Queen Luanna said to her husband.
“I agree my dear, but what can we do? You must follow the rules.” the King replied.
“We must give her away.” the Queen said, regretting the words as she spoke them.
“It’s the right thing to do.” the King said, putting his hand on her shoulder.
A few months later the Princess was born, and given away as arranged. She was given to wonderful women who lived within the kingdom of 1Derland so no one was suspicious.
“Where is the girl?” King Simon asked.
“She died shortly after birth.” the doctor said as he was told, and the King and Queen didn’t need to fake sadness, because their sadness was true.
“Then you must find an heir, or the deal is off, and we will conquer your kingdom.” King Simon said, and that was that.
So that’s the back history to my new story. Who’s ready to read it?
