In fact, it became such a favourite of Tsar Alexander II that he asked Roederer to reserve the best cuvée for him every year. Using only the best grapes from the best Crus, from over 500 acres, they are fermented separately in small, steel vats with the Réserve wines stored in barrels. This gives Roederer Champagne, their distinctive style: rich, round, toasted and highly complex. Louis Roederer is the sole Champagne House to have such an extensive Réserve Wine Cellar.
