Inspired by the lush, foliage-dense landscape of her Los Angeles home, artist Alexandra Carter brushes a luxuriant bouquet of leaves and grasses in verdant greens and extravagant washes. Although appearing as a traditional watercolor, her work is the result of an unusual technique by which Carter applies pools of ink to waterproof yupo paper, allowing the pigment to traverse across the non-porous surface in unpredictable ways. Our limited-edition giclée reproduction of the original painting is printed on paper and hand signed by the artist. Presented in a single white mat, the print is framed in pine with a matte white finish.

  • Dream - Piotr Fafrowicz
    uncommongoods.com
Polish artist Piotr Fafrowicz makes "illustrations for books that don't exist." Simply look at his paintings and your mind begins to spin equally colorful and surreal tales to go with them. Fafrowicz's paintings often feature oddly angled buildings, inspired by the centuries-old architecture of the Polish village of Kazimierz Dolny, now an artists' colony where he shares a cottage with his wife. "I love the innocence of my town," he says. "I try to capture the exceptional beauty of its Renaissance-style buildings, forested hills, and the down-to-earth attitude of its people in my paintings." In this piece, Piotr transforms his tranquil hometown into a hyper-saturated dreamland that is preserved and replicated in a series of high-quality collectible giclee prints. This pencil signed collectible art print (unlimited edition, sequentially numbered) is expertly printed in North Carolina on fine art archival paper made in Germany since the 15th century. Dream is available either framed or unframed. The frame is hand-assembled in Oregon and consists of Durian wood, a Malaysian fruit tree whose lumber is harvested after its fruit bearing life and recycled into a frame. While the lumber from old fruit trees is reused, new trees are replanted in the fruit orchards renewing the fruit bearing cycle. This art piece is mounted on an FSC-certified and conservation quality matboard. The framed art piece comes ready to hang (wire hanger), the unframed art piece comes mounted, matted and safely protected in a clear bag. Made from: 100% recycled paper label stock, wire, durian wood, plexi-glass, acid free/archival board, archival pigment ink, foamboard. Measurements: Giclee print dimensions: 10" H x 6.6" W, frame dimensions: 22" H x 18" W x .78" D.

  • Ron Reams Study No. 070 Giclee Print
    artfulhome.com
Giclee print of an original mixed media collage composition. Ron Reams, as a colorist, works in the exceptional range of image fabrication and discovery techniques. These works introduce color by focusing on sensual harmony and balance while embracing contrast. Abstraction, as the base of each painting, accents the inclusion and combination of landscape and figurative image development. According to Reams, Each painting begins with a square thumb-nail mixed media collage that grows into the much larger visual reality of a completed work of art". During the construction of each collage, paint, ink, and various textures are blended to develop the counter balancing elements necessary for the work to grow. Since Reams sees blocks of space with color and images, he starts each painting on a 15 foot panel that is painted in segments that are separated into 60 squares which are treated as individual studies. Each square, in this initial painting stage, is further enhanced by Ron's unique technique of rotating the square while developing the painting's color, space, contrast and balance. Reams believes his rotation technique allows him to stretch the boundaries of the work and his perception of the statement of the painting's mission. This media of expression has opened up his probing for later works that followed. Overall, 20 panels were created then stored for later observation and study. These experimentations expanded his perceptual boundaries into new directions to combine color and form harmoniously. Signed and numbered by the artist below each image. On the far left is the artist's embossed stamp that is applied after signing. Dimensions below refer to paper size. image size is 8"H x 8"W. Certificate of Authenticity and limited edition is provided by the artist. Limited edition of 200.
