The car pulled into the driveway and my eyes were
amazed by the size of the place. "Oh my," I
"Are you sure you won't be able to make it home for
dinner? The children miss you quite terribly."
I felt bad for pushing the lady, but I needed a ride.
"Sorry, Gran, I've picked up an extra shift. Give the
others my hello." I secured my bag over my
shoulder before exiting the car, not even bothering
to return the ladies confused looks as my push left
her. I stood there in the lawn, staring at the
mansion. I felt ridiculous. What was this place?
Some of the people here were odd. They didn't give
me the creeps or anything, I just had an odd feeling
about them. Like I had to lock my door at night or I'll
end up in the middle of a lake. It was a weird
though, but whatever.
I ran a hand through my hair, watching people pass
as I sat in the corner of one of the many public
rooms. The couch was taken up, but I was all good
sitting here by myself, observing.
