Design Niels Bendtsen. Steel, wood, upholstery. Made in British Columbia by Bensen. The Drop In collection fuses new methods of furniture construction with design simplicity, resulting in a modern sofa with timeless appeal. The sturdy frame has a thin profile contrasted by large cushions. Comfort comes not only from the height and depth of the seat but also from the firm seat cushions that use imbedded coil springs custom made to our specifications in Italy. • Bensen Edward Sofa - Edw210
    hivemodern.com
Design Niels Bendtsen. Molded foam, steel, webbing, down, Italian upholstery. Made in British Columbia by Bensen. The Edward sofa is an update of the BENSEN Ed sofa and utilizes a number of new production techniques for improved comfort and a more refined profile. The name Edward is a reference to American mid century designer Edward Wormley whose designs have remained highly influential in the design community. Edward combines the use of several down-filled back cushions with a single seat cushion to give it an informal and relaxed appearance. The buttoned seat cushion alludes to the Edward's mid century roots, yet its proportions and comfort are decidedly contemporary. The backrest and arms are appropriately scaled to give excellent back support without appearing oversized and heavy, while the down-filled back cushions conform to give superb comfort. The sofa's frame is constructed with a durable steel frame featuring an elastic webbing suspension system adapted from the automotive industry with CNC precision cut foam used for the arms and back to give superior comfort and a tailored appearance. The imported European seat and down back cushions have been carefully selected for durability, firmness and comfort. Seat cushions are made of CFC-free polyurethane, softened by a continuous soft fiber wrap. Back cushions are baffled for even distribution of feathers and batting and to prevent shifting, thereby providing better lumbar support. Edward is available in three sizes, and can be specified in either fabric or leather, or in fabric with a leather seat (please call for details). Legs are finished with a dark Bronzatto finish, and are removable. All covers are slip-covered. Cushions are included as indicated in the line drawing. Additional cushions can be ordered separately. • Carl Hansen & Son Ch44 Easy Chair
    hivemodern.com
Design Hans Wegner, 1951. Hardwood, cord caning, finish options. Made in Denmark by Carl Hansen & Son. The design of Wegners easy chair is quiet but like all his other designs executed with great consequence down to the last detail. The comfort is optimal for such a light chair with wooden back, woven seat and slim armrests. The comfort may, however, be improved by adding the 2 light CH44 cushions which make the chair a little softer to sit in. The back cushion is suspended from the top of the rear legs where a groove is made to hold the 2 loops of the cushion. One of the advantages of the CH 44 easy chair is its modest dimensions and its low weight, which makes it almost as easy to move around as a dining chair. It is ideal where lack of space prohibits the use of an ordinary armchair or where you want a more airy atmosphere than the room normally offers. 31.5" h | 26" d | 25.2" w | seat: 15.4" h. Quick-ship options: - oak, oiled, natural paper cord.
  • Bensen Morgan Sofa - 270
    hivemodern.com
Design Niels Bendtsen, 2012. Molded foam, steel, webbing, down, Italian upholstery. Made in British Columbia by Bensen. The Morgan sofa was designed with a single purpose in mind: uncompromised comfort. The design subtly combines elements of formal high back sofas with a casual modern attitude to create a sofa that is superbly comfortable and suitable for a broad range of interiors. Morgan is characterized by its distinct high back, cut-away arm profile, and sumptuous down cushions. The high back profile provides full head and shoulder support, and extends part way around the sides to form comfortable corner nooks. Chunky wood legs raise the sofa to a more comfortable seat height and balance the proportions. Morgan is built on a durable steel under-frame with bi-directional elastic webbing suspension for superior strength and lightness. To this, a precision made wood top-frame and CNC precision cutfoam is used for the arms and back to give superior comfort and a tailored appearance. The luxurious seat cushions are cleverly engineered with a memory-foam core and wrapped in a generous amount of feather and down to provide the perfect amount of support, allowing the sitter to "sink" into its softness. The cushion covers are precisely sized to give a soft casual appearance without looking sloppy or loose. Down back cushions complement the softness and appearance of the seat, while the frame retains a crisp tailored form. Morgan is available in three sizes in a variety of fabrics and leathers. All fabric covers are attached by Velcro and removable for easy cleaning or replacement. MOR150: 60" L | 39.5" d | 32.75" h | includes 2 back cushions. MOR210: 83.5" L | 39.5" d | 32.75" h | includes 3 back cushions. MOR270: 107" L | 39.5" d | 32.75" h | includes 4 back cushions.

Design Hans J. Wegner, 1944. Cherry or mahogany, leather upholstery. Made in Denmark by Fritz Hansen. "Many foreigners have asked me how we made the Danish style. And I've answered that it...was rather a continuous process of purification, and for me of simplification, to cut down to the simplest possible elements of four legs, a seat and combined top rail and arm rest." -Hans Wegner. In 1944, Danish design legend Hans J. Wegner masterfully designed the China chair for conference use and private homes. This elegant chair follows the guidlines of Wegner's designs by using beautiful wood and quality craftsmanship. A classic piece of Danish modern design. Hans J. Wegner is one of the architects and designers who made Danish Design world famous.
