Leila M. Sweet, shy, pretty in an unremarkable, quiet way. Bookish. Gentle, but by no means weak. One of the quiet ones, and you know you gotta watch the quiet ones. Has her own history, her own secrets and her own skeletons in the closet, but doesn't talk much about them. Kind of bitter-sweet. A born-in-the-bone optimist, but even she has to admit that there's little to be optimistic about. Wears think, bottle-thick glasses and loves caffeine and sweets. A trained nurse, pretty competent, never panics, never flaps, hardly ever raises her voice. Sensible, maternal, a mother-hen type of woman. Funny, because she's almost certainly the youngest, or one of the youngest, in the group - or near enough. A bit too soft-hearted. Reserved, at times, and can come off as intense or aloof. Has a big heart, but isn't one of those shouty, screamy, look-at-me-and-my-emotions kind of people. Probably wears her heart on her sleeve and doesn't even know about it. Tries to like everyone, in her own little way. Borderline insomniac. Doesn't like what her brain shows her in the wee hours of the morning. Has this bright spark of curiosity in the world which makes her seem younger than she is. Smart with it, too. Came from a rich family. It shows. Well educated. Was raised Muslim and still keeps to her faith, although her trust in it begins to wane and crumble as time goes on.
Confident and friend of many in the group.
