The Magis Dog House by the designer Michael Young is produced by the Italian manufacturer Magis since 2001. The dog’s home doesn’t only offer a roof to your four-legged friend, but it is also easy to be cleaned by the owner because of the used polyethylene material. A small brass tag ornaments the entrance of the stylish house. The phrase "Amicus Fidelis Protectio Fortis" is written on every one – it means as much as “A faithful friend is a sturdy shelter”. It is also possible to add a personal phrase to the home of your four-legged friend: “If you want to speak with me my name is…” (followed by the name of the dog). A step with a height of 17 cm is included in the delivery for your dog to enter his home without being harmed. The step should be filled with water or sand in order to be stabilized. The whole house is made of polyethylene, which is processed in a rotation procedure. The base is made of stainless steel tube. The Magis Dog House is available in (matt) orange and white.

Tom & Jerry by Magis is a stool which finds new points of view with its contrasts. Thanks to its low size and the adjustable height, it is versatile usable. The design by Konstantin Grcic is based on classic workshop stools. The colourful elements with the height adjustable screw create a colour and material contrast – since what would Tom & Jerry be without tension between the main characters? Since the stool by Magis is still acting unobtrusively, it can be used in living and object rooms equally. The seat height of the stool (Tom) can be step-less adapted between 70 and 86 cm. The corpus of the stool by Magis consists of massive beech wood, while the screw and the connecting element are made out of polypropylene. The barstool Tom has its counterpart in a small stool called Jerry. Also in our blog: Personality Award for Konstantin Grcic

The designer brothers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec concentrated on this original technique of metal processing and designed different models, whose appearance is dominated by the industrial material. The results are frames with nine geometrical shapes. The rough and imperfect appearance of iron adds an individual appearance to the furniture of the Officina Collection. Cyborg: Material mix Based on the composite beings - known from sci-fi movies - the Magis chair is a component of multiple elements of natural and artificial parts. As the club version of the cyborg, it consists of a frame from polycarbonate and a backrest made from wicker. As a result of the extraordinary material mix and the tension between material and manufacturing, the Cyborg was awarded with the German Design Award in 2016: "While the upper part of the Cyborg is intricately crafted by hand, the lower part stands for the fast industrial production. However, both together like Yin and Yang, result in a harmonious unit. While the base remains always the same except for the choice of colour, the backrest is available in the various designs, such as in wicker, plywood or solid wood, or in an upholstery version in beautiful fabric and leather. Like that the more valuable backrest determines the expression and aesthetics of the object. Jury statement German Design Award. Swing, seesaw or simply relax – not a problem with Spun by Magis. The chair combines seat, backrests and frame in one unique spinning top design. Thomas Heatherwick designed the rotating circle-chair Spun for Magis. The base of Spun is a small circle that becomes a seat at its top. Another ring between the spinning top and the seat avoids the tilting of the chair. Once seated in it, Spun becomes a swinging adventure: It turns, seesaws if desired from one side to another or remains a quite chair to relax in. Fine lines at the outside emphasize the dynamic appearance. Magis manufactures Spun out of polyethylene. Because of the robust plastic, the pegtop is adapted for inside and outside. A rubber coating under the chair furthermore protects the ground. The chair is produced in different colours by Magis.

The Clouds by Magis Me Too are inspired by raw designs, which were given a form but with a lack of content and finality. The interplay of presence of forms and abstinence or all the other design elements encourages our creativity and invites us to dream for a while. Clouds are symbolic and poetic pieces of jewellery, which depend on the interpretation of every single observer. Airy constructions at the children’s ceiling firmament emerge especially combined with other Clouds or the Birds by Magis Me Too. However, the Clouds aren’t only in good hands when they are in the children’s room, but they also look gorgeous in living rooms and object areas. The ceiling sculptures by Magis Me Too are iconic and encourage looking twice at them.

    Magis Design Magis - Air-Armchair
The design manufacturer Magis produces the convincingly simple Air Chair after a design from Jasper Morrison since the year 2000. Six years later, the British designer and the Italian design company piled the fire of the Air Chair up with armrests. Morrisons works are generally deemed to be simply reduced to the essentials. So that also the armchair was designed stackable and manufactured out of polypropylene that is reinforced with glass fibre and worked out with a complicated die casting procedure. The armrests flow seamlessly, “in one casting” into the chair legs, what offers an extreme lightness to the chairs. This effect is reinforced because empty rooms emerge at the sides through which the Air promises an airy seat-comfort – totally according to its name. Because of the robust plastic material, the Air Chair is suitable for inside and outdoor areas. Beside the below showed colour variants, the Air-Armchair is also available in further colours.
